LABILLBACKER Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 Good accurate write up. Gore looked old and slow. Keeping Murphy would've been the better play. Cole did struggle but I still think he'll be our Edelman. Duke will be promoted soon for someone? This D makes me smile. 1 1

That’s been Zays MO for 2+ seasons now. P.S. it’s unacceptable. When DiMarco catches 2 1st quarter passes, someone isn’t working hard enough to get open. McKittrick wasn’t trusted to handle ONE punt and this wasn’t a game where his gadget ‘expertise’ could be attempted.  Nobody is saying Zay is a great wideout. But he's not complete trash, like many on this board try to portray him.  He gets open on a pretty consistent basis. People don't like him because he drops more than his fair share of balls - which is a fair critique. But as I said in a thread a month ago, I'd rather have a guy that gets open and drops a few balls than a guy who just can't get open, that's Duke Williams. There's a reason no team picked up Duke, it's because he couldn't get separation from guys who are bagging groceries right now. He relied on making contested catches against those guys. He wouldn't make nearly as many of those against starting DBs and coaching staffs know this.  Unfortunately for the Bills they don't have someone better than Jones right now. Hopefully they will in the future. 11 minutes ago, Alphadawg7 said:  You ignored what I said in the last post.   And stop about Zay...you are making this about Zay.  I literally criticized every single WR on this roster not named Brown.  Cole was listed in the bad and we challenged anyone not named Brown to step up.   You want to make it SOLELY about Zay then go ahead.  I said SOMEONE needs to step up.  You came back with 100 excuses again for starting a game and not contributing.  3 years in, and we are still making excuses for 22 yard games.  Unbelievable.    I made it about Zay because he's the only one who saw the field. How can you blame guys who are sitting on the bench? 1
JoshAllenHasBigHands Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 The Zay takes are exhausting. It was dumb then, it is dumb now. 5 "targets" does not mean 5 catch-able balls were thrown at him. You are just reading a stat line. You know darn well he caught every catch-able ball sent his way. 5

SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 (edited) come on @Alphadawg7  I let it go just because ...  All off season we heard Zay is't a #1, or #2, or a #3.   Now he's used in the game sparingly and he went IIRC 2 of 3, the one on an overthrown ball by Josh (or as the haters will say Zay wasn't fast enough)  Where was the awesomest Bob Foster???   I only recalled seeing Zay near the ball 3 times. Are we back to calling a ball within 10 feet a "target"   https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2019.htm  ZERO Foster stats Edited September 9, 2019 by SlimShady'sGhost 1
SCBills Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 I agree with most of the OP’s take, but I think criticizing Zay yesterday is a miss.   He was only targeted a few times and caught both catchable balls his way, including a clutch grab in the 4th. Â
LOVEMESOMEBILLS Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 And......he starts a thread to further two agendas, even though his "hot take" was wrong on one and his thoughts on the other the coaches don't share. Pretty sure Beane & coach have a better idea with regards to both WRs, but keep banging that drum. Bang...bang...bang.
VW82 Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 I thought Shaq Lawson was excellent. He's so skilled at batting down balls at the line and even though his initial rush isn't anything to write home about, his second effort yesterday was very good. There was a lot to like defensively vs the Jets and Shaq was near the top of the list. 1 1

RyanC883 Posted September 9, 2019 Posted September 9, 2019 I'd like to see Duke up here. I think he makes some "uncatchable" catches.   Cole on the bad is interesting, but yeah, the drops were surprising. I think once him and Allen get more on the same page in game environments, he becomes a pro-bowl caliber year!  He was always open yesterday. He can become an extension of the run game the way the Pats use the run game with their slot receiver getting 4-8 yard chunks.   I think Foster shows up. If he had a bad toe injury, then even if that's healed, he's not fully in shape yet cardio wise. I'd give it a few games.   Very glad we have Brown, he is a beast, and the Singletary pick looks great.  4 minutes ago, VW82 said: I thought Shaq Lawson was excellent. Barkely!Â
