Yes, this is why sample size matters... Btw, they are #1 in average pass yards per attempt, which is the better measure. It puts Atlanta in the bottom 10, rightly so... I didn't post it because the NFL only displays the top 5 in each category. Next time, I will dig further.

I hope so! 10 hours ago, GunnerBill said: Rex's last year I tracked the defense all season long week by week. Points, yards, sacks, turnovers, yards per play and yards per drive. Was interesting to watch how things went south. Hopefully this year would be the opposite. 11 hours ago, LeGOATski said: Could be a good thread to update weekly. We expect the defense to be one of the top in the league. I do think this trend will continue. I will try, though it won't be as good as I imagine GunnerBill's' was though. 3 minutes ago, SlimShady'sGhost said: All the stats are there if you expand the search and or click the right fields No short cuts now No doubt. Still, I'm not worried about the defense at all. Agree on the sample size. However, if bottom 3 many here would be using it as a talking point. Let's take the opportunity to be positive. 1

ComradeKayAdams Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 I like stats. They make me happy. Here are the 8 stats I always look for when evaluating the quality of a defense: 1. Points allowed per game 2. Yards allowed per game 3. Red zone TD percentage 4. 3rd down percentage 5. Run yards allowed per play 6. Opponent passer rating 7. Sacks 8. Interceptions They still need to work on the red zone defense, which was abysmal last year. More turnovers would also be nice. Otherwise, a great start to the season! We should keep bumping this thread and track their progression in all these stat categories. Can't wait to get the stat boost with the two games against Miami!!!
