Week 1: Buffalo is now 3rd overall in defensive yardage, and 2nd overall in defensive passing yardage

As of the Sunday games in Week 1, the Bills are 3rd in the NFL in overall total defensive yardage, behind Baltimore and Chicago. They are 2nd in the NFL and 1st in the AFC in defensive passing yards, only behind Atlanta. Over on the Jets forums they are saying we have a top 3 or top 5 defense, with no or few weaknesses.

Cincinnati also ranks in the top 4 in both defense and offense. I am getting worried about playing them in Week 3.

I guess so, but it makes me happy.

Could be a good thread to update weekly.

We expect the defense to be one of the top in the league. I do think this trend will continue.

Rex's last year I tracked the defense all season long week by week. Points, yards, sacks, turnovers, yards per play and yards per drive. Was interesting to watch how things went south. Hopefully this year would be the opposite.

Happy that you’re worried about the Bengals already?

Its one week, with aberrations. The Bills are now a trending good defense along with the Bears. The Bengals

have shown literally no trend. Relax, it’s one week.

Atlanta only gave up 97 yards passing--because Minnesota had like 500 yards rushing.

Chicago deserves a ton of credit as they played Rogers.  The Ravens (not saying they are a bad D) had a cupcake game against the Fins.  The Bills O put the Bills D in a miserable situation and still they come up with these results.  Awesome.

But we played the team who ranks 3rd from last in offensive yardage. :)

Defense played great yesterday.  They allowed one sustained drive, and were under tons of pressure do to the turnovers and safety.   Offensive players should be taking the defensive players out to dinner all week.

Games against Miami should not be calculated in league statistics.  It's just not fair.

Are we looking at yardage rankings after 1 week and implying they mean anything? A bit premature don’t you think?

Premature and happy usually do not go well together but if you are lucky and have support sometimes it works out.

My daughter was the opposite, she did not want to come out and was three weeks late and doctor was ready to do C-Section but a nurse who was a neighbor gave us a way to encourage my daughter to be born.
