I forgot that the Pats tried to trade for him this offseason.

That definitely makes me a bit more suspicious that AB tried to orchestrate his own release to get to NE.

Oakland got played.... lol

Pretty sobering.

What’s to stop ANY player from doing this?  The Pats could just become a ring factory.  A place great players decide to go to win, and use any means necessary to do it.

I remember when football used to be kind of fun...

So loss of the Patriots’ first round draft pick would be an appropriate penalty for their tampering with Brown.

I completely agree here.  People like that give Bills fans a bad name.  It’s a game.

I really can't see how a player who lacks respect for authority will do well on a team that lives by it. This could be one of the worst mistakes the pats* have ever made. I would bet ab will not be part of the team for the whole season.

First off, Randy Moss and Corey Dillon. I suggest reading this for more: https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/09/07/antonio-brown-patriots-bill-belichick

Raiders would need to file tampering charges

Which im sure they’d gladly do if they had evidence of colluding. Seems odds are he knew they offered a first and would likely be interested given their past history.... anything more is very hard to prove I’d guess

I don’t have a problem with this. It’s a new form of an old tactic. Guys who have wanted out have requested to be released, become malcontents in the locker room, quit on the team, etc. If social media was a thing (or as big a thing) as it is now, past players would have also leveraged it to get what they want. Brown is simply the first to use social media to work the system.

The floodgates aren’t going to open all of a sudden. More guys will try it but historically, the number of guys who go public in an attempt to change teams is relatively low.

Unfortunately Goodell will turn a blind eye to all of this.

....allegedly from what has been posted here, Falcons & Steelers want an investigation.......with Saint Rosenhaus as AB's agent, collusion is unfounded (cough).....but how about the potential personal conduct policy violation for threatening physical violence against Mayock?....blind eye to THAT?....interesting.....

So everyone here who said he was insane was really wrong, b/c he's actually brilliantly manipulative.

Which is it?

Nothing would surprise me with the NFL at this point. It's getting pretty bad.
