Trubisky was going against a D coached by a former Bills HC.

DC, not HC.

That game is getting a lot of grief from the masses. Must be FF playing younguns. Both teams played masterful Defense like I haven’t seen in a long time. RBs disappeared into the line and QBs were thrown around like the bouncing ball in an old sing along. I don’t fault either QB for their performance. The lone TD was as dangerous a pass as I’ve ever seen Rodgers throw -and he throws many.

As to the OPs question, Mitch was introduced to Pettine Wide 9. How many QBs played well their 1st time opposing that? Ask Rodgers.

To the rest of you whippersnappers,

Yeah.  "Masterful defense."  Sure.

It's only appropriate that the centennial celebration game set football back a hundred years.

On a scale of 1 to 10 how crushed will your soul be?  10 being so bad you just don't watch the rest of the season.

I feel so bad for the Bears right now, wasting the best team they have had since 85 on a dud QB, heralded to be their savior.

Da Bears got 46yds rushing for the game, 35yds after removing Trubisky's yards.  I think that would bother me more.

But stats can be misleading.

They really weren't even that good.

You know damn well it was great Defensive play.?

There was a lot that went into MT's struggles

1) I firmly believe the lack of playing time in the pre season hurt him. As well as Rodgers to an extent it appeared.

2) Absolutely criminal misuse of Montgomery. As well as not utilizing Miller in the passing game.

3) Nagy tried to be too cute at times. Almost like Chip Kelly, refusing to get out of their own way.

4) Green Bay also deserved a lot of credit. Their GM did a fantastic job revamping their D. You have to tip your cap to Pettine and the job hes done with getting a lot of newer additions all on the same page.

The season is a marathon....not a sprint

If you start 0-2 you have a 10% chance historically of making the playoffs. The NFL is the definition of a sprint, all other leagues are marathons.

I’m so numb to Bills QB’s failing in their second season, the last 20 years, I would not be upset.

...I feel your pain Crispy....hopin' he has "Sophomore Slump" like Mahomes...could or should "ease the pain", right??........

I would be disappointed.  But a bad outing by Allen in week 1 wouldn't exactly shock me.  With a whole new cast on the offense and having only played about 4 quarters in pre-season I would expect the Bills O to get off to a slow start.  Honestly what would shock me the most is if the Bills offense & Allen start off hot in the 1st quarter.

And lets not forget what others have noted: the NFL season is a marathon not a sprint.  Remember how after we traded for Drew Bledsoe we opened the season by crushing New England 31 - 0!  And Bledsoe was SHARP.  Then the next week we go on the road and beat Jacksonville 35 - 17!  Talk about visions of Super Bowls dancing in our heads.  But how did that season end?  As I recall we finished 8 - 8 and missed the playoffs.

I would love a sophomore slump like that...I would probably want to freeze time for a few more weeks just to let it marinate a little bit longer. ?

Would not surprise me if some will be calling for Barkley. Anyways if he does, can only just move on to the next game and put it behind you. That's about it. With that said I wouldn't be too upset, maybe a little disappointed. But I feel he would rebound from it well IMO.

So we shall see what happens.

Trubisky is a bum after one game? This instant analysis from 1,000 different angles is killing sports.

I've never observed so many asinine threads in such a short timeframe...and it's only week 1.

BV, he looked bad, at home, in a big game against what last year was a very average defense.  It’s a long season, but the guy looked lost.

And if I’m a Bears fan, I’m not happy with Nagy for sitting the starters for the entire  preseason.
