I am in the camp that would try and extend Poyer - I agree he isn't elite but he is a good, proven starter who has a knack for making plays in the redzone - a quality we don't have in abundance on our D. I also think people should not underestimate the importance of his relationship with Hyde. The reason the Bills are able to mix up and disguise their coverages effectively is in no small part the trust and communication between those two.

He is currently a FA after 2020 and is due $3.4m this year and $2.9m next year. I'd try and do a deal that added two years to his contract and that averaged about $5.5m a year for the next 4 seasons but would front load a bit this year
