House Democrats passed Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s sweeping legislation Thursday to lower the cost of prescription drugs on a largely party-line vote — a bill that will almost certainly not become law but moves the Democrats a step closer to their longtime goal to negotiate Medicare drug prices and address voters’ concerns over rising health costs.

The bill, which passed 230 to 192 with unanimous Democratic support, has already been declared “dead on arrival” in the Senate. The White House has indicated President Trump would veto it if it came to his desk.

But the measure, which would allow the government to negotiate lower prices for up to 250 prescription drugs in Medicare, will be a key plank in Democratic efforts to maintain control of the House of Representatives in 2020. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee said it planned to target ads to voters in swing districts and those currently held by vulnerable Repu

Trump promised to negotiate better drug prices, but almost all the Republicans voted against the prescription drug bill and its sure to die in the senate.

Kudos to Pelosi,  this will hang around Republicans necks in November

The Dems made sure it had a poison pill that only an idiot would go with- it has an automatic punishment for cost of final drug rising faster than inflation. If the cost of the materials rise quickly then no one gets medicine, which is much worse then expensive medicine.

Lawsuit: More Than 2.5K Dead People Are Registered to Vote in Detroit

by John Binder

Original Article

More than 2,500 dead Americans remain on the voter rolls in Detroit, Michigan, according to a federal lawsuit filed this week. The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) filed a lawsuit in federal court this week against the city of Detroit for allegedly failing to maintain their voter rolls, including keeping more than 2,500 dead Americans aged 85 and older on the rolls. After obtaining voter data from the state of Michigan earlier this year, PILF researchers said they discovered that a number of registered voters had either “impossibly old” or “disqualifying young” date of births

PILF also states that Detroit has about 4,788 registered voters who have been flagged as having potentially registered to vote twice or even three times. Another roughly 16,500 registered voters allegedly do not have dates when they actually registered to vote.

PILF President J. Christian Adams said in a statement

Judge orders 234,000 purged from Wisconsin voter rolls

USA Today, by Bruce Vielmetti & Patrick Marley

Original Article

PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. – An Wisconsin judge on Friday ordered the state to remove hundreds of thousands of people from Wisconsin's voter rolls because they may have moved. The case is being closely watched because of the state's critical role in next year's presidential race. Ozaukee County Judge Paul Malloy also denied the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin's petition to intervene. Lawyers for the League and for the Wisconsin Elections Commission indicated they will appeal and asked Malloy to stay his ruling pending those appeals, but he declined.

If The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) really wants to bring attention to this issue, I suggest changing their name to The Municipal Interest Legal Foundation (MILF)

In the voters' defense, the difference between "dead" and "living in Detroit" is very subtle.

The first increases and the latter decreases as time goes by

Illinois town posts job opening… for Democrats only

by Jazz Shaw

Original Article

If you happen to live in or around Joliet Township in Illinois, located a bit to the southwest of Chicago, and you happen to be looking for work, there’s some good news coming your way. The Township is looking to hire a new clerk. If you’re interested, the job will entail many of the tasks you’d likely expect, including answering phones, filing and making copies. There is one special requirement, however. You have to be a Democrat to apply. (CBS Chicago)

A help-wanted ad in the suburbs raised eyebrows this week – with its suggestion that only Democrats need apply.

Such a restriction would be illegal.

The ad was posted by the Joliet Township government. They are looking for a part-time deputy town clerk.

The job listing included the requirement that the candidate must have voted in a Democratic primary election.” Illinois uses a closed primary system, so the only way you could have voted in the primary was if you’re a registered Democrat.

When the local CBS affiliate contacted the township, they were told that the office wasn’t aware that the requirement was against the law. They’ve since removed the requirement from the job listing. But the cat is pretty much out of the bag now, right?

and, ultimately, if a Dem is hired for that position, the town should be investigated.

Will Democrats Leave Their Irreligious Party?

Jewish World Review, by Alicia Colon

Original Article

Most legitimate surveys show that the majority of Americans believe in some form of religion and of a Superior Being. Nevertheless, in August, the Democrat Party officially declared itself to be the party of the irreligious. That's not much of a surprise to those who recall G od being booed at the 2012 Dem convention but one has to wonder what prompted this official declaration:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE recognizes:

1. The value, ethical soundness, and importance of the religiously unaffiliated demographic, a group of Americans who contribute in innumerable ways to the arts, sciences, medicine, business, law, the military, their communities, the success of the Party and prosperity of the Nation; and

2. That religiously unaffiliated Americans are a group that, as much as any other, advocates for rational public policy based on sound science and universal humanistic values and should be represented, included, and heard by the Party.

The DNC claims that un-religious people identify with their party and its platform but that does not mean that all democrats share its beliefs. My family has always been diehard Democrats yet are religious at the same time and I'm afraid that's because they have no idea how extreme the party has become. What they do have is a great distrust for Republicans because that is what they hear in the mainstream media. The demonization of the GOP has been very successfully wrought by the lapdog lamestream media.

The average Democrat I know does not believe that infanticide is a right nor do they accept the nonsense that there are more than two genders. They do not believe that open borders that allow drugs and murderous gangs into our country should be our policy. Those that have jobs do not approve of their wages taxed to give benefits to those who are here unlawfully. They are also outraged that children are being subjected to progressive stunts like having drag queens read to them in public while exposing their crotches. (Don't believe this? Google it). They do not approve of grown men being allowed to use women's bathrooms especially when they are being occupied by young girls.

Yet all of that is being pushed by the Democrats running for president in 2020.
