But you're saying that the call was unintentional.  I don't understand that.

The ref has to go through a series of steps to call/enforce a penalty.  I don't know how any of them can be unintentional.

They have to see the penalty.

They have to grab the flag.

They have to throw the flag.

They have to explain the penalty to the Umpire so it can be announced.

How can all of those things happen unintentionally, especially when it was abundantly clear that no one's facemask was touched?

Which part was unintentional?

Ok I will try one last time. All I wanted to say was that with that call refs did not intentionally try to screw Bills. And that overall performance of those refs in Steelers game was very good and fair.

The FM call itself was obviously intentional (in the sense that respective ref had thought he saw FM and called it) and was really bad.

He means the refs weren't intentionally screwing up.

Does this matter, when they’re so GD incompetent, that they fail to see things in the middle of the field and wide open to ANYONE without a white cane

OR

they do... but just ignore it?

Is THAT the NFL standard now for Refing?

A: ABSOLUTELY!

Just go to the critical blind, non call against the Seahawks at game’s end!

FFS, THAT’S WHY THE LEAGUE PUT IN THE REVIEW OF PI PENALTY... post the Saints being screwed in the identical situation last season.

And, the entire ref staff simply moved on, ignoring it in Seattle!

Intentional or not, it’s a week to week FUBAR.

I hope this is the 1st game ever where afterwards, I pound my fist against the couch arm and exclaim, "Man, was that a perfect game of officiating!"

I realize it's not likely.  But hope is a good thing.
