Tyree

For Gods sake, why? I want a player who has a chance of becoming an NFL player. He clearly does not. Waste of a practice swuad spot imho

It's one of those opinion things there's no arguing with.  Tyree's physical talent is undeniable, but I simply don't think his football abilities as a QB are far enough along for him to be worth a slot, even on the PS.  If they want him to run the scout team and give the D different looks, he has to be versatile enough - I don't think he's versatile enough to play football tailored to his style, let alone anyone else's.

Then too, let's say Allen is injured and next game Barkley goes out - it's happened - you really want a guy who could "hold down the fort" for a game if you're keeping him on the roster.  Maybe with a limited, tailored game plan, but hold down the fort.  I don't see Tyree as able to do that at the NFL level.

You may disagree, that's fine.  There's also the point that during the season, coaches going to be all about the starter and the backup.  It's not going to be all about coaching up the 3rd string guy.  He'll learn plays, and defensive reads, and film skills in the QB room, but basic technique improvement, there really isn't time for that.

I pretty much agree with this...he is NOT an NFL caliber player. Would be a waste of a PS spot.

Wade

Sills if only as an experiment to see if he can add mass

Cam Lewis

Pitts, but he won't make it through waivers

And Easley, could be another Beasley.

wasnt he a draft pick? He was a playmaker but a little light, could be great fit for us.

Wade and Williams (if we can). I think Williams has played himself onto someone's 53 man roster, but he'll have to learn a new playbook, so he won't be on the field for a while. Those are the 2 obvious misses on the 53 man roster. I don't know why they kept so many OL and TE's other than trade bait, but what can they possibly expect from guys like Boettger and McDermott? I could see someone giving up a 7th round pick for Croom, though. Other than Wade and Williams, I don't really care. I doubt it will make much difference anyways.

Croom is going straight on IR but with the potential to return at some point. Boettger is a good backup lineman in a league with few good backup linemen. He came into the league as an UDFA and fought his way past a guy the team spent draft capital on in Wyatt Teller. Spain is a one year contract, Long has a one year out as well and I suspect the Bills would love to keep developing Boettger into a starter. He is a better football player than Williams or Wade at this stage.

looks like we might be drafting more lineman next year with those contracts.

So I have just scoured the waiver wire (I am available Mr Beane you just have to pick up the phone and call) and combined with a few of the guys I liked who were here I'd go something like:

QB - Luke Falk, Washington State, 6th Round 2018 (Jets)

OL - Mitch Hyatt, Clemson, UDFA 2019 (Cowboys)

RB - Josh Adams, Notre Dame, UDFA 2018 (Eagles)

RB - Christian Wade, International Player Pathway, (Bills)*

WR - Isaiah Ford, Virginia Tech, 7th Round 2018 (Dolphins)

TE - Jordan Franks, UCF, UDFA 2018 (Bengals)

DL - Daniel Wise, Kansas, UDFA 2019 (Cowboys)

DL - Gerald Willis, Miami, UDFA 2019 (Ravens)

LB - Malik Jefferson, Texas, 3rd Round 2018 (Bengals)

CB - Cam Lewis, Buffalo, UDFA 2019 (Bills)

CB - Teez Tabor, Florida, 2nd round 2017 (Lions)

I do not understand why everyone is against Tyree- find out if he can get better with good coaching. The other 3rd stringers have less physical talent- we might be able to coach him up to be a good backup. In practice squad guys I prefer talent to decision making.

Thank you Timmy!!

You guys were willing to give Josh Allen time to improve basic techniques and footwork in his game, but not Tyree?? It's highly unlikely he will see the 53 this year with the improvement of the Oline and Matt Barkley's intelligence at QB. Tyree showed, in a meaningless preseason game that he has moxey. Give the "local" guy a chance.

Moxie doesn't overcome inability to pass.

Like we had a choice?  LOL.  Bills aren't running a charity case here. Besides the final drive, Tyree struggled in the preseason against backups and pry should've stayed another year in college as he's not close to NFL ready.

I'd rather take a chance on somebody like Kyle Lauletta (a former 4th round pick) who had a decent preseason and is unlikely to make the Giants practice squad.  Josh Allen's style of play makes him prone to injury and we need a QB on the practice squad who can back up Barkley.

isn't the third string/practice squad QB responsible for being the upcoming opposing teams QB that week? i've seen it said that Tyree is good at multiple styles of play. so it might be one of the ideas behind signing him if they do.

man without a position in NFL.  Steelers saw him as WILB in 3-4.   Hard road for him now.

While boettger made the cut, I don’t think it’s an indication that the Bills thought he was better, rather he was close enough in their eyes that they could do the Teller trade. In my view, They knew they could not keep both, so they traded the guy that gave the best return to them.

Do you think the Browns would’ve done the same deal for Boettger?

When Spain went out against the Panthers in the 3rd pre season game they put Boettger in. That tells me in the staff's mind he was ahead.

I think what likely happened is Beane said to McDermott and the OL coach the next day "if that is how you feel what say you we test the market for Wyatt?"
