They like him but he’s not Zeke. They have other options in their offense. And he has zero leverage. Edited September 4, 2019 by YoloinOhio

They offered him a long term deal already and he turned it down. They are now done negotiating with him until after the season. If he sits out too long, his contract will toll to next year. That means he loses a year accrued toward FA and will be under the 5th year option, again, in 2020. Didn’t Zeke have two years left on his deal? Or am I mistaking.

Technically he only had one but the cowboys tacked on the 5th year option. Gordon is going into his 5th, and the Chargers also is exercised his option. Edited September 4, 2019 by YoloinOhio

The only thing I know is death taxes and the Bills spending top assets on RB's. This has Bills written all over it. A lot of money. No elite talent at the position. I'm prepared for it. No way it’s the Bills. My guess would be Dolphins.. but who knows.
YoloinOhio Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 Josina’s tweet seemed to just indicate there was a team that inquired. Not that there was any back and forth. Probably hung up when they found out what they want for him.

If it's for a 2nd and a 6th then I could deal with it. I could live with a 4 year 48mil deal with 30 guaranteed. ...strictly opinion, but I don't see that in McBeane's wheel house.........
Beane/Allen Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 (edited) Rumor has it Beane wants Gordon bad. Is he being swayed by the local media (Mike Schopp) which seems to put little emphasis on the running back position? Personally, I feel a big play on Gordon would show lack of confidence in who is under center. Edited September 4, 2019 by Beane/Allen

I don’t think the Bills would care interested in this trade but can you explain why you think it would show a lack of confidence in the QB? MG is utilized a ton in the passing game, too. The parameters are only one 1st, its a 1st this year OR a 5th this year and 1st next

He hasnt been here long (could be a new account of an old poster), my guess is its a troll account based on the little posts I have seen. 2
Kirby Jackson Posted September 4, 2019 Posted September 4, 2019 I’d be fine with Gordon. He’s not Zeke so I’m not paying a 1st or 2nd for him. He’s an elite skill player though and the Bills could use that. I don’t care how much they have to pay him because I don’t see the Bills in any sort of cap trouble in the near future. Front load it and give yourself outs after year 2 and year 3. I’d offer a 3rd and a 6th. People are too fixated on “you shouldn’t pay ____ for a RB.” I’m fine paying elite players at any position if it doesn’t damage my cap. The Bills can EASILY do that and still have plenty to do whatever else is needed. 2

Okay...that's a little better. I still wouldn't give up a first for a RB though unless he's something really special like Adrian Peterson in his prime or CJ Spiller in 2012.

I would rather wait and see what we have in Singletary first, once the real action starts. If we did it for a 5th year and a 2nd or something next year I wouldnt hate it, not sure how happy id be though either

Look at what comes up! 1
