Mr. WEO Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Chargers hang up on Gordon... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001045990/article/chargers-suspend-rb-gordon-talks-until-after-season
Zerovoltz Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 If this is a topic eslewhere please delete etc...I hadn't seen it here.... Considering that Gordon has been told by the Chargers he can play on his current deal or he can seek a trade, I have thought that there aren't a lot of teams that could both afford and need a RB at this point, but Buffalo seems to be a team that meats the criteria. Would you guys want him? If so, what are your thoughts on a contract and trade compensation?
dave mcbride Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Just now, Zerovoltz said: If this is a topic eslewhere please delete etc...I hadn't seen it here.... The Bills' stable of running backs is pretty good now anyways. 2
plenzmd1 Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I say no, no, never, no ney never no more...will I be a wild rover, no never no more! Just replace Wild Rover to "will I pay a RB top money"
Rochesterfan Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Nope - just got rid of an overpriced RB - not sure where he ended up, but we do not need another - yet. 1
BuffaloBaumer Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 They finally realized how stupid it is too pay top dollar and top draft picks for RBs. Let's hope they never, ever do it again. Those days are finally over, after more than 15 years. 2

StHustle Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 RB's take a beating and therefore have short careers while playing a key skill position, so I understand why the want to get paid. HOWEVER, RBs that can help you win a superbowl come a dime a dozen so unfortunately it isnt worth overpaying for these guys. Gordon is clearly showing he wants to get paid big or will not show up to work so therefore it's a no from me dawg.
qwksilver Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Gordon is a hard pass. Zeke would be interesting. 1
Rigotz Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 Ok ... so ... a playoff contending team with a need at Running Back doesn't want to pay him. Why would we ... when we just drafted a running back? Ask yourself questions like this before posting. 1
dpberr Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 (edited) No because contracts mean something. They are important. Second, has there been a player who's forced themselves out of a contract, got traded, got a new contract, and fulfilled it? These guys just want to get paid and once they do, they aren't going to risk their lives for the money anymore. If I were the NFL, I'd collude against any player wanting to force themselves out of a contract. Edited September 3, 2019 by dpberr 1
