Never want to see anyone get hurt, but this is awesome. It allows the Bills to basically "redshirt" a player that wasn't going to contribute much this season anyways, but should be able to compete for a defensive spot next season.

Backup linebackers looking to be Stanford, Thompson, and Maurice Alexander, unless they add someone on waivers.

Enjoy the red shirt year rookie. Smart move if he wasn’t ready but I figured for sure the kid would be ready to make a contribution later in the season.

I guess this replaces the “go get a concussion” of yesteryear.

I agree.  Seems pretty bogus.

5th rounder they like but not ready gets injured in final preseason to get stashed on the IR.

Why do we bother having a megathread if every move gets its own thread anyway?

I'm having trouble finding the Demetrius Rhaney thread...

I didn't see the game to see if he actually got hurt.  If he did, not bogus.

Sucks for VoJo, great for us.

Does it? IR is probably better than practice squad. Definitely pays better.

He did.  Hard to tell how bad it was, but looked legit.

Yeah.  And many/most of these guys are used to red shirt years...

Smart move, stash him for the year as he wasn’t ready but he is talented

I bet the Bills will be patient with Joseph. He is talented but of course he needs to be coached up. When they drafted him they knew this. Joseph also comes from a program at Florida that allowed its Lb's the autonomy to roam and create plays. Some of that may lend to Josephs discipline issues. Once the Bills are convinced that he can bare down and complete his assignments...they will trust him more.
