That was worth a 6th to them and I can understand it. I guess I am confused, if he was cut and he was a FA and could sign anywhere, he would sign with the Pats ofc if they called his agent, who wouldn't?
PIZ Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Is it better to have the extra pick or better to see the Patriots without a starting C? I'm sure that weighed on Beane's mind.
aristocrat Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 i wonder if the morse thing was all fake to mess with the pats and think we have a weakness at center
Kelly the Dog Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Beane very likely held out for a sixth after the Patriots started with a seventh. 2
MJS Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 This is one of those rare times that I think it is no big deal to trade with a divisional opponent. Bodine is not starter caliber, was going to be cut anyway, so getting a draft pick us great. I think the "intel" concerns are greatly exaggerated. Bodine can't tell them much more than they already know or that film study can't confirm. 1

Yeah...a dry observation I guess! A little sarcasm like I was speaking to myself!

Tatonka68 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Triple good news, 1. Andrews out for the year. 2. We trade and get a 6th round pick, 3. Bills DL line gets to abuse Bodine for two games and plant Brady into the Turf.

John from Riverside Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Shocked we traded with the Pats but Glad we did it

You obviously don't understand how impressive it is to get compensation of ANY kind in return for a player you were going to cut for nothing. Oh, and one more thing: This year's 7th rounders, Sweeney and Johnson, are about to make this roster and contribute. ScottLaw gonna ScottLaw, I guess. Can't help himself. 3
Chuck Wagon Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 But I've heard several national media talking heads say we have the worst Oline in the league, how are our backups able to be traded for draft picks?

SydneyBillsFan Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Checking calendar.....nope, just as I suspected, its not the 1st of April. It is however a case of either grand larceny or misleading conduct, passing off Bodine as an NFL centre.
Lurker Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Seeing that they're able to find guys like Darryl Johnson and Tommy Sweeney with 6th-7th round picks, this is highway robbery for this front office... 1

Then they should have traded Bodine for a seventh and not a sixth! Beane is an idiot! 2

HalftimeAdjustment Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 These low round picks can also be part of trade ups in the mid rounds, too. 4
