Nextmanup Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) What do you think? Is the game changing? Edited August 29, 2019 by Nextmanup
Captain Hindsight Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 If I havent watched a 4th preseason game in a few years does that count?

I really do think the landscape is starting to change, and the pre-season as we know it won't be around much longer. May not be any different next year, but I think it's coming.
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 The league makes money on them apparently ... therefore, they will remain a blight on the sporting landscape

bigK14094 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Gotta hope. Its one of the reasons I canceled by season tickets. (standing fans was #1)
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I voted no only becasue doubt it will change until the next CBA which is the year after next. 2

Kelly the Dog Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 There were 40 players on each team that thought it was one of the most important games of their life.
Formerly Allan in MD Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 The empty stands around the league suggest it should be.

No big salaries to pay. Season ticket holders HAVE to buy them.
Buffalo Barbarian Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Your title and question are misleading. is this the last #4 preseason game ever? No. Will we see another meaningless pre-season game #4 in the future? Yes, the games will be cut but not next year.

True, but coaches have for the most part made up their mind after having a month to evaluate the player through training camp and scrimmages.
May Day 10 Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Its moving there, but not yet. It will need to be the next CBA, perhaps a part of the carrot that gets another regular season game(s) and/or another playoff game. The motivation to do it is almost there. I just do not see them coming up with a solution/alternative on the fly. The preseason schedule for 2020 will be released in a blink of an eye
