I never hated him like some posters do. I thought he had real potential. Well, the coaches see him more than any of us, so I'll trust their judgement. As far as the trade goes, it was good, but nothing special. We got the pick back that we used on him and swapped a 6th and 7th. Good, but not as outrageous as some seem to think.

I still think Cleveland could get the best of this deal in time, but only time will tell with Teller.

Hated him? He was one of the darlings of many here since the day he was drafted. Not gonna speculate why, but facts are he was pretty terrible from start to finish and Beane worked his black magic again to get a good return on a sub-replacement level scrub.

I actually thought his most informative comment was when he noted that they want OLinemen who can play multiple spots on the line. Teller didn't have positional flexibility.

This comment plus not keeping Teller himself makes me wonder if they aren't going to just keep 8 OL.

The trade pretty clearly favors Buffalo.  They traded a guy who wasn't going to start and apparently wasn't even a primary backup for a 5th and 6th in next year's draft.  Draft experts will tell you that the value of a 7th round pick TWO drafts from now is almost negligible, and Beane now has more draft capital in 2020.

Stocking up on picks go draft a new punter in 2020 .. these later round pics .. will help us corner the market on special team help .. McBeane .. GENIUS!!

Peters wasn't a bubble player.  They traded him because he was rightly disgruntled when they signed scrubs for more money than they were willing to pay him.  That sickened me the way the Bill's with Marv Levy as GM handled that.

I liked Teller, but he wasn't a stand out player.

You missed the sarcasm.

Bet Josh is bummed today - Teller was one of his good buddies on the team

Sorry, I just assumed this site was for meaningful discussion on the Bills, not philosophy 101.

So think of the haul for Teller in this context:

He was a 5th round pick that wasn't going to make the roster, so the team was able to ship him and a 7th for a 5th and a 6th.

Contrast that with NE...

They had a 2018 2nd-round pick that wasn't going to make the roster, so the team shipped him and a 7th for a 6th.

Meh, traded to a team where he has a good chance to start is better than cut... It's a business. (though I imagine it's a hard couple years when you learn not to get to close to anyone.)

Bummed as he may be, I’ll bet Josh is even more psyched knowing he has even better talent up front blocking for him.

Oh, and receivers to throw to and backs to hand off to and coaches to coach him and tight ends to look for and...

Now he will make the ProBowl like Whitworth did last season.?

Good to see them get something in return rather than just cutting him though.

What does Bodine have to do with Andrew Whitworth
