Gugny Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I've never had liver. With or without onions. I've smelled it. That's why I've never eaten it. I think I looks gross and smells gross and it is highly doubtful that I'll ever try it. Maybe chicken fried. I might try that. Nah. I'll never know. Do you like liver?
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) Man .... how to answer that poll I've eaten it before when I was a kid because of low iron count. but it had to be cooked just right. Liver and Onion's in a brown gravy As an adult I've had it twice in the last 20 years Now my iron count is so high I can do the double dip at blood donation drives LOL Edited August 29, 2019 by ShadyBillsFan
WhoTom Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 The liver is the body's filter. Eating liver is about as appetizing as eating a cigarette butt. 1
ExiledInIllinois Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Yes. Contrary to what @Cripple Creek says. I like everything. I am a lover, not a hater. 1 minute ago, WhoTom said: The liver is the body's filter. Eating liver is about as appetizing as eating a cigarette butt. Cows don't smoke. Shoot up. They eat grass. Nice clean grass.
Cripple Creek Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Pate ✔️ fois gras ✔️ calves ✔️ beef ✔️ chicken ✔️ 1 1
Augie Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I’m watching Beat Bobby Flay and they are making liver and onions. I’m leaning more to the “never camp”. 1
Happy Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) Yes, with fava beans and a nice chianti Edited August 29, 2019 by Happy Gilmore 1 1 1
Mike in Horseheads Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Not a constant menu item but if cooked right its awesome with mashed spuds! Its also not the best for your cholesterol so my mom and dad would go to a local restaurant only occasionally so dad could have . 1
flaz Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 No way do you put gravy on any liver. If the beef or calves liver is sauteed in butter to medium rare and served with caramelized onions, there is no stink and it melts in the mouth. A nice salad and a baked spud rounds out the meal. Heaven on earth for Mrs. flaz and me 1
Gray Beard Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Don’t know how to vote. I used to eat it back when it was considered healthy. Now it’s considered to be unhealthy. I never really liked it, so I see know reason to eat something that I don’t really like and is considered to be unhealthy.
flaz Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Thirsty's here in the Cape has a female chef that makes it just right. I told her, last night, that she makes it almost as Mrs. flaz did. Unfortunately she hasn't cooked in 3 years The biggest issue with liver is overcooking. It becomes shoe leather past medium rare or medium. Well done you can drive a nail with
Johnny Hammersticks Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I love liver. Delicious. Especially when it’s made into pate or fois gras. When I was a kid my father insisted that we have fried beef liver and onions once per week for dinner. Hated it then.
flaz Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Oh, if you don't like liver, you probably don't like rutabaga. Good, that means there will be left in the store for me 1 1

I hate straight up liver. 1
row_33 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 indifferent chicken and pork up here is so cheap these days that they might be cheaper to feed a family of 4
Chandler#81 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Yes, but I also like ugly, hairy fat girls and crackheads, so... 1
The Dean Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 No. "But you never tried MY liver. It's delicious". It isn't. It sucks, as does all liver. I've had it a million different ways. Just can't get past the texture. In general, I avoid all organ meat. 1
