ESPN's Top 10 RBs of 2020. UB's Jaret Patterson is #4

4. Jaret Patterson, Buffalo

Representing the Group of 5 is none other than Patterson, who was among the five most valuable running backs in college football last year. He posted an 87.5 rushing grade in 2019, which ranked among the three best Group of 5 running backs. Patterson was handed several opportunities to make plays for Buffalo's offense through the usage of run-pass options (RPOs), and he proved to be one of the best in the country on those plays, as he trailed only LSU's Clyde Edwards-Helaire in PFF grade on RPOs while generating a first down or touchdown on 37.3% of his touches on such plays, which was a top-three mark in the nation last year.

UB has proven to be running back u among non-bcs schools

What has impressed me about the UB program is that under this regime it has put together a big and effective OL where their talented backs can thrive. In my mind that has been the primary reason why their offense has been so consistently good.

Without a doubt the last five years have shown UB is the class of the MAC in o line play

And they have gotten alot of local kids on the line

Congratulations Ledarius on signing with the Bears and evin with the Falcon's

Don't forget WR KJ Osborne, who was a Bull, was drafted in the 5th round by Vikings.

As for L-Mack, his brother Khalil has played an outsized role in his life. He lobbied UB to give him a scholarship when no other school would. Now he paves his way to the Bears. Did the Bears want him? Did LaDarius want to play on the same team as big brother? Will Khalil push him to be his best?

Bulls get another national TV game 7pm Tuesday 11/17 @ Bowling Green on CBS Sports Network

These week night games have done a lot to promote the MAC and the Bulls. The Bulls are an entertaining team to watch because their offense makes a lot of plays both running and passing. The best thing that has happened to the program is the hiring of Leopold. He knows how to build programs and then how to maintain them. Hopefully, he won't be enticed any time soon by a struggling former big time program like Nebraska.
