thebandit27 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I figured I'd take a shot at predicting the final 53 prior to the last preseason game. I'll come back and make an update after tonight's game, but for now, here's my take... QB (2) - J. Allen, M. Barkley RB (4) - L. McCoy, F. Gore, D. Singletary, M. Murphy FB (1) - P. DiMarco TE (3) - D. Knox, T. Sweeney, L. Smith WR (7) - J. Brown, C. Beasley, Z. Jones, R. Foster, A. Roberts, I. McKenzie, D. Williams OL (9) - D. Dawkins, Q. Spain, M. Morse, C. Ford, T. Nsekhe, J. Feliciano, R. Bates, S. Long, W. Teller ST (3) - R. Ferguson, S. Hauschka, B. Colquitt (projected trade with Cleveland) DE (4) - J. Hughes, T. Murphy, S. Lawson, D. Johnson DT (4) - S. Lotuleilei, E. Oliver, J. Phillips, H. Phillips LB (6) - M. Milano, T. Edmunds, L. Alexander, C. Thompson, J. Stanford, D. Lacey CB (6) - T. White, L. Wallace, T. Johnson, K. Johnson, S. Neal, L. Pitts S (4) - M. Hyde, J. Poyer, K. Coleman, D. Marlowe PUP - T. Kroft PS - T. Jackson, C. Wade, R. McCloud, I. Boettger, J. Jones, V. Joseph, D. Rice, J. Johnson 17 1 2
PetermansRedemption Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Side note, but you would think by now a center would have came along who can long snap and regular snap. Would be nice if teams did not have to use a roster spot on that position. 6
H2o Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I too think they are going to carry 7 WR's. Nice work Bandit. 2 1
Maynard Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Nice job. Think Yeldon makes it over Murphy though. 9 1
Philo Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Great post. There are a couple spots I have different players penciled in, but I can see why you chose the players you did. It's going to be interesting to see if anyone plays themselves on or off the roster tonight. There are probably 3-4 spots that are fairly fluid still. 1
Aussie Joe Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I like M Murphy but I don’t think he makes this team unfortunately.. I agree with you on 7 WR, and Teller..
jkeerie Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I see it similarly with Yeldon over Murphy and Jaquan Joseph over Marlowe. (I don't think they want to expose Joseph to waivers. It may be the same with Vosean Joseph as well since he was a 5th round pick.) 4
atlbillsfan1975 Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I agree with everything except I like Yeldon over Murphy. Yeldon is a much better pass receiver. 5
JoshAllenHasBigHands Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Murphy is nice, but I don't think he gets picked up if we cut him. I don't think the same is true of Yeldon. I think they keep Yeldon because they know they can always pick Murphy back up. 1

Hopefully we won't need either of them on offense so it may come down to who's better on special teams (and I don't have the answer to that one)

As a practical matter, you also want your LS to be a guy that can cover punts too. 10 minutes ago, Maynard said: Nice job. In 4 pro seasons, Yeldon has never played a single snap on STs, whereas Murphy played 79 ST snaps in 11 games in 2018 alone. 2

I don't think the team will want to expose him on waivers. 1 1
Gugny Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Nice, Bandito. This 53 would make me very happy! 1

I found it interesting this preseason that the Bills have been experimenting with players on STs more than usual. I really think they are realizing they have players that they'd like to keep, but who haven't played STs in the past. Of course, that may be why we stunk on STs in Detroit. 1
jav Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Yeldon over Murphy Vosean Joseph over Lacey Munnerlyn (process guy) over Pitts Jaquan Johnson over Marlowe Nice wild card with Colquitt over Bojorquez

Only changes I have are Yeldon at RB over Murphy; at LB Joseph over Lacey. 1 1

He hasn’t in the NFL but the bills have been putting him in there, as he did at ‘Bama. I like the list though, except I’d rather have Yeldon, he’s already proven his worth in the nfl, and I’d like J Johnson over Marlowe. I hate to give up on Teller, I really want him to grow into a starter

ALLEN1QB Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Looks good to me like you said I kind of like Yeldon over Murphy though.
