My BiL works for Big Pharmaceutical in VT.  They almost left, the company for W.Va.  The workforce decided against moving to "Vermont South." Wouldn't have been that much of a culture shock...

Lived in DC for years and went to Baltimore many times, mostly to see Red Sox games at Camden Yards.

Great ball park.  Baltimore has had its share of problems, and that has been well publicized.

You can still have a lot of fun there down on the waterfront or a night out in the hip spots in town, just like anywhere.

a prof in the family, who worships his intelligence, decided to go for a walk around 9pm in Baltimore a few years ago

a police car swooped down on him and forced him in and took him back to his hotel, cop asked 12 times "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!!"

he has told the story proudly 12 times, we all silently look around the room at those gathered and nod....

Was there a few years ago to visit the harbor area - very nice.

I was seriously considering running red lights on the way as I was in a brand new, expensive car.

This.    Love going for Orioles and Ravens games with some Maryland Live/MGM casino action on the side.

The nervous nellies that are scared of the “mean streets” are probably just entitled racists.

we were planning to go for another DC/Philly/O's trip but the fans in Baltimore were held hostage inside the stadium for an hour in the 8th inning of a game as rioting in the streets forced the shut down of all exits.

good thing it went to extra innings

Exactly... Can't be as bad as here... South Side of Chicago... And I basically go anywhere.

The first Bills game I ever went to was in Baltimore. I was 19 and it was either the first or second year the Ravens had a team. It was fantastic. Our tickets must have been in a designated Bills section because we were surrounded by Bills fans, but even the Ravens fans were nice. It was delightful. It was Halloween weekend so we painted our faces and I decided to take a gamble and order a beer from the usher. Lo and behold I got served, so I kept getting more. Half time came around and a new guy was on shift and I ordered a beer. To my surprise he cards me. I said "I don't have my ID, but I already drank all these beers". He proceeds to give me a beer then go into a long diatribe about how Indianapolis got the colts and how Baltimore "got stuck with these hosers". It was a great time......that was many moons ago. I've been to inner harbor and the aquarium many times since, but have no desire to go back any time soon.

I"m very tall and very wide so people try to gauge if i'm a pscyho in public, and i usually dismiss that notion quickly.

it would take a serious problem for someone without cause to bother me or my friends, most with the same physical size at a game or a bar.

Flutie game? That 4th down 23 yd scramble on 4th and 22 was maybe the most awesome play i have ever seen in person!( i am guessing on the yards)  TD to Jonathan Linton to win the game!

That's the October game, right?... Boy I forget which year, late 1990s. I resigned myself to yard work (picking up apples and leaves) when I heard my old neighbor (he's from St.Louis) scream: "Get the hell in here!" ??... Now when things get stressful on Sunday in October, that's my go too routine!  Can't say it worked too well since... But I keep trying.  I am very superstitious! LoL...

usually it's not people this size that cause trouble, if they did they'd be locked up an eternity ago.

with my size i often bump into people by accident, the man whirls around in anger and then sees me and changes his tune, of course I apologize quickly and kindly to defuse it, but i wonder what he'd have done if i were his size or smaller....
