I wanted the Bills to draft him in the later rounds.  Glad they passed.

I mean he has some talent but if his last name wasn’t Kelly, would you have been interested?

You, Walker and his family and friends may be the only people in the world who think that.

or those of us who think objectively and not enamored with someone's family history

Is this post supposed to be a joke of some kind?

He was suspended for two games to start the season months ago!!!!

I have never asked for a thread to be closed, but this extremely misleading (and confusing) OP should be stopped right now to avoid more from receiving this extremely misleading information.

the talent is undeniable. It's the 2nd, 3rd. 4th chances that come with the name.

Watch the tape, it doesn't lie. The kid can play. I agree that he's probably gotten more looks post-off field issues given the last name--the question is what will he make of what is likely his last?

Yep, announced in May

Good thing Osweiler was available to save their season.

Wrong. I've watched that battle closely and even though I'm a Chad Kelly fan I'm not the type of person who forms biased opinions. If anything I judge those I'm a fan of HARDER.

Since you seem so sure about your thoughts, how about a friendly wager: If Kelly beats out Walker for the backup QB job (meaning the professionals who are paid big bucks to make that decision agree with my take) then you start a thread titled "StHustle was right" with a post admitting you were wrong and accept whatever comes with it (mod warning or disciplinary points or what have you) and if Walker beats Kelly out then I'll do likewise.

If you're not willing to put up then s*** up.

Not attacking Luck for his decision but his timing could have been a lot better as far as the Colts are concerned.

He could have waited until halftime at the Colts opener.

Every time that idea comes up, my counter argument is that no one would be interested if he had grown up in East Brady or Red Lion or anywhere else than in WNY.   As it is, WNY is a relatively small pond in the football world so he could not go unnoticed and his last name made him all the more newsworthy.

The PPK championships, the Red Lion HS school team, the SJCI years, the UA allstar camp, signing at Clemson, the knee injury, the spring game dismissal, the  championship year at Last Chance U, the signing at Ol' Miss, the nightclub fight/arrest, the great  2015 year for the Rebels, the knee injury in 2016, his brother's HS game brawl, the combine disinvite, the ruptured wrist tendon at his Pro Day, the Mr. Irrelevant draft position, winning QB#2 at Denver, the bizarre Halloween party incidents, his being waived and now the Colts.  All of this made news in WNY.  Chad is like a modern day, reality TV version of a Greek Trajedy.  Enormously talented but with devastating flaws and lots of obstacles to overcome.

Does it end as a trajedy or as a story of redemption?  I am interested in how the story ends and I am hoping to see the latter.

Actually that would have been a good argument.  The Broncos waived him, effectively suspending for 8 games.  The NFL imposed 2 game suspension seems redundant but I doubt Chad felt like that challenge to authority persona was the right way to go.

No other team was able to sign him? I don't think waiving a player is the same as a suspension.

In the sense that he is unable to be around the team and loses his weekly game checks, a suspension and being waived have the same consequences.    At least you are likely to return to the team after a suspension.  I would make the point that the Broncos punishment was more severe and that the NFL suspension was unnecessary.

Yes.  Obviously being Jim's nephew helps but he showed he could play at Ole Miss., at least enough to get drafted (late).

We did. He was like Incognito.  Brought his suspension with him.

To the Kelly “fans,” what has ever shown that makes him a nfl qb besides his last name?  If his name was Chad Smith, no one would be supporting this idiot.

I would be, it might be cool to see the drummer from the red Hot Chilli Peppers play in the NFL as a QB when he isn't drumming or looking like Will Ferrell....
