But if they want to be able to bring him up they would have to put him on the 10. If they use the 11 they cannot but neither can anyone else.

The is for the clarification.

I get that it is a great story but it is not in the best interest of the Bills to make him the 4th RB this year.

After a year on the practice squad learning the game and its fine points, I think he may be a great backup for Devin.  Just not this year.

LOL

Awesome nickname WEO   good job

Wade oops Rugby Rudy getting multiple reps will let us know if he has a clue about American football and if it is even worth putting him on the PS at all.

I find it amusing people have conflicting views if Tyree Jackson belongs on the practice squad due to his potential since he hasn't done ***** yet in the preseason games. Wade has been raw but very impressive in his what 4-5 touches this preseason and as long as he can (he does have to clear waivers like everyone else?) clear waivers he better be on Buffalo practice squad.

Nope, nope, and nope.  Wade may develop into a serviceable NFL RB but at this point in his career he'd be a liability on any 53 man roster.  He is destined for Buffalo's PS and we can hope he develops there.

^This. Love the story, but it’s time to end this emotional romanticism of Wade’s quest to make the roster this year. It ain’t gonna happen. Especially because of Yeldon. Wade is lightyears away.

Any team in a rebuilding mode could easily claim Wade. Very little to lose but lots of upside.

And if that ends up being the case, more power to him. But we simply don’t have the luxury. I think it’s either get picked up when he’s waived and placed on another team’s PS or he goes on our PS as the 11th, exempted player.

Nor would I. So far you guys have only seen a small fraction of what Wade can do.

I will go as far as to say that he definitely will be on the active roster of one of the NFL teams, and Bills fans had better hope it's theirs, as they have been the ones training him in the ways of American Football. Otherwise they will see him making yards and TDs for one of their opponents.

Yep, we will see Wade racking up yards and TDs.

Right up up until he gets his ass planted trying to pass protect.

If you have questions on PS eligibility, being claimed by other teams, etc see other thread on Wade.

I was hoping this was a Wade Phillips thread.  Damn I wish he would have fired that twit coach Ronnie rather than him getting fired for subordination.

Wade is a fun story when the games don’t matter and he is on the field with guys that will be unemployed soon.

But he’s not such a fun story when bullets start flying for real and complex defenses and blitzes are on the opposition trying to decapitate Josh Allen and Wade is responsible for picking up a free defender.

I wish the lad well but the fun and games end tomorrow night at about 10pm.

The Bills have a free spot - why would they not use it?  The real question is to use the free spot or put him on the normal practice squad.  The free spot means he will not play this year, normal leaves the potential to be called to the 53.  I am betting the free spot.

The 4th pre-season game should be referred to the Halloween game.....just a bunch of guys dressed up in NFL uniforms playing football.

What running backs are actually expected to play tonight?

My Assumption is yeldon/murphy.  I think based on the depth chart yeldon probably locks up the rb4 spot assuming healthy.  Murphy is playing for a job somewhere else, and honestly having watched him last year I think he has a shot.

As long as he doesn't have to clear waivers which I guess was my misunderstanding giving they use the free spot that is great and I of course hope they don't use it.

Except some of those guys make the team, and that is belittling to those guys playing tonight, some of them will definitely make rosters at some point.

If you don't see a lot of Yeldon at RB and he plays ST, then I suspect he makes the team.
