....agree....certainly understand his health concerns, but the decision two weeks before the start of the season?......

And two weeks after homicide hunter Joe Kinda announces his retirement from the tv ashow?

Hmmmm.

Thanks for your predictive ad hominem attack. ?

I was deployed with a colts fan the year Peyton got injured so it’s a sore spot.

My pleasure.

Brissett is an excellent backup.  They are solid onD and have a really good O line.  I predict they still win the division.  Although all my friends here in Indy are in a state of shock right now.

That’s funny.

I remember Brisette playing against Buffalo a few times now.

Has he yet to lead his team to a TD against us?

People mention the Stanford degree all the time, but it's hilarious trying to imagine a scenario in which an architecture/design firm hires Andrew Luck to an entry level position commensurate with a bachelor's degree and no experience.

Perhaps Luck can learn to tack weld?  (See:  Engineers, OTW). ?

The Colts aren’t in as bad a spot as they’d have been a decade ago.  There is a bumper crop of QB talent that has been entering the league and the next few QB classes look solid as well - we’re seeing something of a renaissance for the position.  Luck’s salary goes off their books, they have deep talent at other positions (including the best interior lineman in the game and one of the best inside linebackers), their owner is committed to winning and they have a solid coaching staff finally.

This year may be rough for them especially if players check out mentally given the timing of all of this, but I suspect they’ll be competitive sooner rather than later.

What pisses me off is that this helps Bill O’Brien’s Texans team, which I despise.

I wonder if he considered taking  "leave of absence", taking a year or two off to get his head and body straight then reassess once healthy.  Guess he can  always come out of retirement, but wanting to walk away from the game completely shows where his head is at now

I don't think I blame the fans much. Bills fans ripped Davis, an older veteran who wasn't a huge part of a rebuilding team, for retiring during halftime of a game because he just didnt feel like he could do it anymore.

These fans just had a similar thing happen to them but with their franchise QB who was the star of their offence and decided that 2 weeks before the season opener, he just doesn't feel like he wants to play anymore. The team now went through the draft and FA without being able to find a replacement for him to backup Brissett

Retiring at halftime? I highly doubt it was Andrew Luck’s preference to have the information that he was retiring leaked in the middle of a game - since, he had a PC scheduled for the following day supposedly. Who leaked that info? And why? Irsay? His agent?

Could this be a ploy for him to get out of Indy? Sit out a year, let them draft a QB and then come back and force a trade? Maybe he feels Irsay has put subpar talent around him and wishes to move onto a better franchise? I think he comes back eventually.

Yes.

He missed 26 games in 2015-2017 seasons via injury. One of the best QB's to play that couldn't play. He has been nursing a nagging injury again this year.  I'm also equally not surprised you don't agree. Furthermore even more surprising that you keep unblocking me just to reply  ?

I love Barkley, but for a 1?

Yes, I know this would NEVER happen. But for a 1, bye bye Mr. Barkley.

Brissett is starter quality, he proved that in NE. They're not giving up that much for a back-up.

Hahahaha here we go Matt Cassel all over again.

He didn't prove anything in the few games other then he probably isn't a starter in the NFL.
