KRC Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Well, you have fun watching all the chicks you want beat the hell out of each other. I'll chose not to. 296433 Important point: Allowing people to make their own decisions, instead of forcing one's beliefs on everyone else.
erynthered Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 That story reminds of this story, here in Florida no so long ago......... http://www.jameshoyer.com/news_boxing_death.pdf
envirojeff Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Important point: Allowing people to make their own decisions, instead of forcing one's beliefs on everyone else. 296437 It's called an opinion? I think people that litter are stupid! I think that children should be protected by their parents, not abused by them I think that, if they wanted to, the government could do something about gas prices and I think that the Bills could be on the bink of something very special (Psst....all opinions too) Jeff
KRC Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 It's called an opinion? 296453 Of course it is called an opinion. Did you think it was something else?
ch19079 Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Can someone please tell me WHY women are boxing??? Jeff 296384 the same reason women volunteer to be in chain gangs.
envirojeff Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 the same reason women volunteer to be in chain gangs. 296459 WTF Jeff
aussiew Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 What difference does it make that this is a woman who died and not a man? Are you saying that men are less worthy, or less of a loss if they die?
RuntheDamnBall Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Call me unsympathedic or a MSP, but I don't understand this one. I have no intrest in watching a woman get bloodied up and beat to a pulp. 296399 But men, that's fine? What's the difference, if it's a contest and not a real-life fight? While we're at it, what's the difference with football? Contact sports are all controlled violence. If women want to take part in them and people want to watch, that's their right.
Rubes Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Well, you have fun watching all the chicks you want beat the hell out of each other. I'll chose not to. Jeff 296433 Now you're getting the hang of it!
millbank Posted April 5, 2005 Author Posted April 5, 2005 Didn't she have head gear on? 296699 The fatal blow came during the third round of Saturday's fight. Heather Schmitz of Boulder threw a right cross that connected with Zerlentes' protective headgear above her left eye and she fell to the mat unconscious.
IDBillzFan Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 What difference does it make that this is a woman who died and not a man? Are you saying that men are less worthy, or less of a loss if they die? 296529 I think they're saying that most men are idiots and we rely on women to be smarter than us. As sung so poetically by The Dead: Let us put men and women together, see which one is smarter, Some say men, but I say no, women got the men like a puppet show. It ain't me, it's the people that say, men are leading women astray, I say it's the women today...smarter than the men in every way. That's right, the women are smarter, That's right, the women are smarter. That's right, the women are smarter. The women are smarter. That's right. Little boy sitting in the corner and cry, big man come and ask him why, He said "I can't do what the big boys do", the man sat down and he cried too. It ain't me it's the people that say, men are leading women astray, I say, it's the women today, smarter than the men in every way. That's right the women are smarter, the women are smarted that's right Ever since the world began women been imitating the ways of men, But listen cause I've got a plan, give it up just don't try to understand. It ain't me it's the people that say, men are leading women astray, I say, it's the women today, smarter than the men in every way. Alaska Darin Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Didn't she have head gear on? 296699 Headgear, like seatbelts and other safety devices, isn't infallible. While I don't know the specifics, it wouldn't surprise me if this woman suffered nothing more than a broken blood vessel in her brain. One of the things that has always pissed me off about boxing (a great sport) is that fighters don't have to have mandatory pre and post fight CAT scans.

On ESPN last week this tall skinny blonde was knocked into the middle of next week by one great right hand. Everyone thought she was dead. She was out for ten minutes and ESPN wouldn't show the replay until she was awakened. The winner said she wants Ali's daughter next. Like with "Fear Factor", some will do anything for fame and/or fortune.
