Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 Were there really that many actual penalties or were they just being over-officious jerks?
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 The refs were a little Ricky tacky. Hopefully they will “lay off” come weeks 2 or 3.

Good question. They (the refs) seemed like a quality team who, like the players, are working out their preseason bugs. Also, typically we see far more penalties in preseason in part to show what the refs have been counseled on to emphasize during reg. season. Also, the players played like crap.
Orlando Buffalo Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 I am ok with the over officiating as long as it to work out the links in preseason and for the NFL to decide what " needs" to be called. Once the real games start though I hope they standardize it across the officials and decide to only call what must be called.
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted August 24, 2019 Posted August 24, 2019 ...seems like EVERY pre-season game is loaded with penalties....more penalty yards than offense.....like 3,285 NBA whistles per game....boring..........
