With Williamson, Copeland, and I think Trumaine Johnson being out, the Bills really need to win week 1. In fact, if they can start the season 3-0, I think we'd all agree they should have a pretty good chance of making the playoffs. And with the Jets, Giants, and then a Bengals squad probably missing AJ Green and playing in front of a fired up New Era crowd, that's not an impossible task.

Plus at 3-0 the only need 2 more wins for McDermott to keep his job, per ESPN

Per CBS a couple of days ago.

Johnson is still hoping to be ready by the time games start to matter, but this news rules him out for the remainder of the preseason. Opposing passing offenses could have a field day against New York's thin cornerback corps if Johnson needs to sit out regular-season games, though that's less of a concern in the team's opener against Josh Allen and the Bills.

Starting ILB (and 2018 leading tackler on the Jets) Avery Williamson out with an ACL, starting OLB Copeland suspended - there's only one more starter that has to get caught up in something, amiright!? :D

Somebody needs to test the HC next—he looked awfully taken with those smelling salts and he hates to sleep—maybe mixing in a bath salt or 2? Just sayin’ ;)

If we can’t run the ball in the Jets week 1...I won’t be a happy camper.

forget running. Allen and Beasley BETTER exploit the middle of that field and get 150 yards together.

Yeah, because as we all saw last year, Allen sucks at the deep ball. What an idiotic statement. Cimini just another douche who is gonna look bad once Josh disproves him.

Wow. The national disrespect of Josh Allen is unlike anything I've probably ever seen before.

Through our entire playoff drought, I don’t remember any of our QB’s getting the bashing that Allen does.  Our string of QB’s has been Kelly Holcomb, JP Losman, Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick, EJ Manual, Kyle Orton, and Tyrod Taylor - none of these guys got the national disrespect that Allen is getting.

The stat sheet scouts have very strong opinions against Allen because, in their opinion, numbers never lie.  It’s reached crusade level recently.

...LOL...try this one on.....NFLN's Terrell Davis said that "AB was MUCH better off in Oakland with the improving Derek Carr and the Raiders versus the potentially disastrous QB situation in Bflo".....

There are a few "true believers" out there.

I so want the Bills to whip them Game 1.

That's such a dumb take I mean seriously having a bunch of your starters out for around 4 weeks in which you have two division games is pretty bad.

Good news for us.  Pretty much everyone (national media and it seems like most football fans) are saying that the Jets are going to be better than us this season.  And, while I don't believe that is true, they will be competition for sure.  However, if we can beat them Week 1, they may find themselves in early trouble with the first half of the schedule they have.  They have a tough go of it out of the gate and if we can get them right off the bat, they may find themselves out of the race sooner rather than later.

Ps.  Has there ever been a player more universally disrespected and hated on in NFL history than Josh Allen?  I mean, really......it is ridiculous.  I will be the first to tell you that Allen was not my first choice in that draft class, but it was never because of his talent level or where I thought he could get to in his career.  I just knew he was very rough around the edges, had a lot of bad mechanical habits, and needed a lot of work.  My biggest concern going in was how long that was going to take.  I always made sure to say that even though I didn't want us to draft him, that I realized there was a good chance he could end up being the best QB in that class eventually because he has every tool you want a QB to have.  He has made improvements by leaps and bounds much faster than I, and many others, anticipated.  However, it seems that most people that thought he was terrible in college, believed he is always going to be terrible.  He is the only player I have ever seen with a rap like that.  I don't get it. Every other player can possibly get better, but somehow Allen can't?  I just don't understand.
