Are you calling me a girl?  I'm just assuming your wife is a girl.

My wife is a girl.  I do know from past interactions that you are a man, all man.

Ah yes....the Cardigan Wars...  It was a dark time....

In Winter I try to set the temp to 72 and I get reamed because it's too cold.  In Summer I try to set the temp to 72 and I get reamed because it's too hot.

Yup, that's exactly it!

Or we had to use that new light bulb in 2007

We didn't have to.  We could sit in the dark when we ran out of incandescents.  Or use LED bulbs now...

Some day you'll make a beautiful woman very happy. If you don't freeze her to death first.

I am seeing someone right now who came over yesterday in a jacket.  I opened the door and said "you know were in Atlanta and it's 94 degrees outside".

She said "yeah but I spend most of the time inside your place".

We supercool at night and then turn it completely off during peak hours (3-8pm). We use much less energy that way. It's a plan that's encouraged by the energy company to reduce cost.

78/79 daytime. outside temps generally in the mid 90's with heat index over 100. July/August

79 at night and it usually doesn't even kick on with the outside temps dropping to 73 /75.

these settings are summer related

fall/winter/spring don't even need a/c really.

edit: ceiling fans help to keep the cool air circulating.

that's because in Florida you wear T Shirts and Shorts all the time

Do our leaders follow this crap, or is it just something that's "handed down" for the masses but ignored by them?

Shirley you jest?

of course they don't.

They have dozens of empty rooms they need to be kept cold to protect valuable artwork

This would basically render my AC unit superfluous—I mean really, what’s the point at that point? Might as well keep the windows open 24/7. At least then an occasional breeze may, just may, flutter through. How about we match the temps of Congress’ Thermostats instead?
