TheBeaneBandit Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 He is a broken man.....literally. A shame though, I dig his game the short spurts he is healthy. 1
Virgil Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Damn, I was optimistic about him. But he was probably the odd man out. Did great things that one year
Ethan in Cleveland Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Odd move. Why not just keep him on IR? He must be healthy enough to come back sooner and wanted a chance to sign elsewhere.
folz Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Feel bad for E.J. Very good player, just can't stay healthy. Hope things work out for him in the future.

Big C Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 It was nice to get EJ back as a depth guy rather than a starter but even then he got hurt before the season started! Ah well. 1

They must feel confident now with Kevin Johnson as the third outside corner and it looked like E.J. was headed for the backup slot role and since they signed Captain and have been trying to groom Neal for that role too, they must feel like they are set now without E.J. 2
Mr. WEO Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 He'll need assistance cleaning out his locker. 2
Buffalo Boy Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Gives him a chance to get healthy and catch on with somebody if the chance arises. Life goes on 1

Life goes on Yup, and perhaps if he and his agent feel that the Bills releasing him helps his chances catching on to another team, then maybe this wont be the last time we see EJ in a Bills uniform. 1

Another team? He has already played on 4 different rosters (2 different Bills rosters) and has been on IR on 3 of them--including now in Buffalo before taking a snap since they just signed him.

He deserves a chance to play on a team that may want him. 2. Money, he wont get his whole salary so there is some cap savings. In reality, this was probably the strategy they decided to pursue after he was injured. You cant just waive an injured guy even if you decide you dont want him on your 53. This is how it is done. 3

It's the reality of a system driven by relentless competition. There's always someone trying to take your job, and once you let him the field in your place, your job is at risk. 13 minutes ago, Mr. WEO said: Another team? By week 5 a half dozen teams will be looking for corners. He will be back somewhere. Edited August 18, 2019 by Shaw66 1
Magox Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 That's too bad. Perfect fit for this scheme and the Bills were a better team when he was on the field. Maybe next year.
