Seriously, any movie that sets a car/gun fight to Brighton Beach Rock has a good soundtrack. But again, Goodfellas is still the gold standard. Blues Brothers is an awesome soundtrack. Another good one is Wedding Singer. Love the 80s music.

No offense to the others, but Guardians is a very strong call

On that note, I'll throw "Grease," in there with the same reasoning. It was far more of a musical than Purple Rain, but I still think it was more movie than musical. May as well include Mama Mia and Bohemian Rhapsody too, then. Hell, why not Tommy, or The Wall?
frostbitmic Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 All mentioned, I think Forrest Gump Apocalypse Now Pulp Fiction Hair ... I know I know The Wall ... Just because - too bad there isn't a Tom Petty movie ... YET

I was a transfer junior in my first year at Oswego when the movie and soundtrack came out so it was coming of age kinda thing for me. I may have to go either dig up that CD or download it lol And I think you meant Seven Mary Three! Lol Maybe you were thinking “Sister Hazel”? 1
Rocket94 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 I don't know any sister Mary! ha! I meant Seven Mary Three. The song is called "Shelf Life" excellent song!

Haha I figured as much and yes it was! Always found it humorous that they named their band after the show “CHiPs”! That was John and Ponchs call numbers or something like that.
The Plastic Cup Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 The Graduate Saturday Night Fever Swingers

I'm upset with myself for not thinking of The Wall. The Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack was the best part of the movie, by far. 1
