YoloinOhio Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) In a league filled with football obsessives, Gore is one of the most notably obsessed. “Last night I was standing near him,” Bills coach Sean McDermott told me at training camp. “And I could hear him going over play calls to himself, just spitting the play calls out. Some guys are three feet away BS-ing, and there’s a possible Hall of Famer spending every minute of his waking day breathing in football.” “There’s a saying, in scripture, about being lukewarm. Frank Gore is not lukewarm,” McDermott said. The amazing thing about Gore is that for all of his heroics in games, the legendary stories that circulate about him mostly come from practice fields. RoyBatty is alive Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 So reading McDermott's quote, i looked up "lukewarm" and "scripture", this is what i found, not exactly highly inspirational Revelation 3:16 New International Version (NIV) 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 1

Seasons1992 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I'm telling you, Gore is going to be vastly important this season. 1

The combination of Shady and Frank as the vets around Singletary is almost ideal as it gets. Shady has similar playing style and Frank is the example you want every young RB to follow 3

Being lukewarm in Christianity is a negative. McDermott was using it as a positive to say that Frank isn't lukewarm and is 100% dedicated 5 3

Frank Gore lives and breathes football.

C.Biscuit97 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 The Gore stuff is so crazy. He never could stay healthy and now he never gets hurt. Still not a HOFer. ? 1
Saxum Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Gore showed how much he loved training. “[After the 2011 NFL Players Assocation collective bargaining agreement], guys should have longer careers [because of reduced practices], but not all guys take it seriously. I really think Frank wants to finish no. 1 in rushing all time if he could.” Gore has 14,748 career rushing yards, 3,607 behind leader Emmitt Smith. Four years at his last full season rate.

It sounds similar to the quote when deciding to be involved in a war vs staying neutral. Basically it says always choose a side because if you win the war you get to share in the spoils, if you lose the war you will still have a great ally who appreciates that you rode it out with them but if you stay neutral both sides will hate and distrust you. Can't remember the exact quote now and couldn't find it..
