Mentioned how we never been there, they said neither had they. Given its history seemed odd. We asked why, they demured. It was obvious why they did not want to say why. Years ago, my brother who is white, made the mistake of exiting the interstate in the wrong place and soon found himself in the ghetto driving a Lexus SUV. A cop pulled him over and actually asked him what the Hell was he doing in this neighborhood. My brother told him that he made a wrong turn. The cop told him that he had no business being there and that he would give him an escort to the interstate on ramp. There are parts of the city that are fine. For others, you need to be armed. I do not go into the city often, but there are places in the city that I like to visit.
