What a shock.

Holy Christ these people are scumbags of the highest order.

"People are being shot in Philly, and THE PRESIDENT IS DOING NOTHING!!!"

Well...yeah.  It's a local crime.  :wallbash:

Nonsense, he should send in the Army, so that they can complain about how he's an evil actual literal super mecha-Hitler dictator and that he should be impeached for violating the Posse Comitatus Act.

Sarcasm?  Hell no. There are a lot of people in this country that feel that way about police officers.

Ah, I think I get the context now.  That was in reference to what the OP might have been thinking. My bad.

There is a time to be political and there is a time to let things play out.

Can this Philly situation play out before we gang up on each other politically?

Kamala Harris on CNN calling for more gun control as this situation is unfolding. No mention of the Cops bravery as there is on Fox News. Dems politicizing this in sickening fashion already. Tibs should be pleased

Philadelphia is a scummy place. In the pantheon of scummy American cities, it may not be Zeus, but it's probably Apollo.

Recently on vacation, met a couple who live 1 1/2 hrs. outside of Philadelphia.

Mentioned how we never been there, they said neither had they. Given its history seemed odd.

We asked why, they demured. It was obvious why they did not want to say why.

Years ago, my brother who is white, made the mistake of exiting the interstate in the wrong place and soon found himself in the ghetto driving a Lexus SUV. A cop pulled him over and actually asked him what the Hell was he doing in this neighborhood. My brother told him that he made a wrong turn. The cop told him that he had no business being there and that he would give him an escort to the interstate on ramp. Nice town that Philadelphia.

Parts of Philly.....  just like any metropolitan city including Toronto

Agreed. I live in the Philly 'burbs. There are parts of the city that are fine. For others, you need to be armed. I do not go into the city often, but there are places in the city that I like to visit.

Ever been there?

Years ago I was heading south on the highway and instead of turning left to go to Haddonfield I turned into Camden on a city street. I literally feared for my life and I'm sure I broke a law or two getting turned around and the hell out of there.

Haddonfield's a nice little town. A bit on the snotty side, but better than just about anywhere in Philly

In 78, 83, 05

driving in the first 2 times the major highway barriers were high enough to completely block the view out of the city, that was a harbinger

there has to be astounding rich neighbourhoods in the general area, Detroit has the nicest suburbs
