Over 29 years of fanhood Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 I belive Sweeney is going to be the #1 TE on this team in the next season or two. Heath Miller ish 1
Saxum Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Well based on Lee's contract it will not be for this year. I was warned a number of times that mentoring others on the job would cost me my job and they were right but I keep doing it. 5

wppete Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Not going to cost him his job. If anything looks like Croom will be the one cut. 2
ghostwriter Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 I like Sweeney. I think he is more than a blocking TE. Not saying he’ll be an All Pro but I think he is better than where he was drafted. 1
Doc Brown Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Talk about a "look at me" statement. I don't see how his job is in jeopardy as he was brought in because he specializes in blocking.

I remember Brett Favre saying “it’s not MY job to teach him how to play.” I understand that to some degree, but I can also see how a high quality individual will do everything possible to make the team better. Want to make the playoffs? What if they get hurt and sit for 3 games? This tells you something about the, ummmm.....character stuff we hear about. 6
Logic Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 I loved this article so much. Lee Smith is the man. Best quote? "I promise you one thing right now: Tommy Sweeney is not just a blocking tight end. Maybe I am but he’s not. The kid can run, he gets in and out of his breaks - I mean he’s not making plays against the threes out here, he’s playing plays against the ones. That’s our one defense and they were second in the league, if I’m not mistaken. He’s a good football player in both aspects of the game and he works his butt off." 7 2 2
whatdrought Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Love it. This whole team just feels.... processy. 2
Doc Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 I don't care if he or Knox becomes a stud TE for the Bills, I just want one! 3

DJB Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 (edited) Everyday that passes, Croom's days as a Bill gets closer to the end. Once everyone is healthy I really only see Kroft, Knox, Sweeney and L Smith on this team. Highly doubtful we keep 5. Edited August 14, 2019 by DJB

It does seem Croom’s days are coming to an end but I believe he will catch on in a hurry somewhere. The kid seems like he could be a weapon in the passing game.
