Thought it might be good to have a thread for the ever increasing protests. Had a good chuckle a few minutes ago when a Fox reporter mentioned "the one ***** in China's armor".

I feel terrible for the people of Honk Kong, but the US isn't going to save them. They are well and truly hosed.

Yup. Only the collapse of the CCP can save them.

Which, might be happening as we speak.

CCP (oligarchs) needs an open HK to do business.   Nobody wants the US and UK remove HK's special designation, which can be done without a single fired shot.   It won't be pretty, but military won't be needed (at first)

This is turning into Exhibit A as to why citizens should not relinquish their right to possess firearms.

I don't agree, we have a say in our government and it protects us from foreign threats. This is very different. The Chinese army would laugh at citizens armed with what really would be nothing more than pop guns against armor. AKs and AR15 might be good for massacring unarmed people out trying to have fun, but against an organized army, they are almost nothing

Everyone should be calm and safe? Thanks Donald. I hope he is doing more behind the scenes, but really, we do not have that much pull.

A good example is the Bundy Ranch standoff. While the government could have tried to solve it by bringing in tanks and bombing the protesters they of course couldn't do that without being ripped apart by the U.S. citizens. Just the fact that Bundy's neighbors came to his rescue with weapons made the government back down and not take his cattle.

Except the government was in the right in that case, and Bundy's a criminal moron.

No, but now that we have this one, he may as change the thread title to "Another Tibs Thread Is In Danger Of Going Dark".

Well, here's the justification for the forthcoming massacre:

Quote

“Radical Hong Kong protesters have repeatedly used extremely dangerous tools to attack police officers,” a spokesman for the Chinese government’s Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office told a news briefing on Monday, according to Chinese state media. “The first signs of terrorism are starting to appear.”
