I have followed the Malarchuk story along his path, and incredibly proud of how he has survived... and also how he has channeled his struggles into helping countless people.

He was very much messed up in the head after that.  OCD.  I recall him saying... He'd hit a bump on the road while driving AND HAVE to stop, go back and check if everything was okay!!!!

Crazy story!!!

But... Then again, WHAT ice hockey goalie isn't messed up in head to begin with? J/K

I distinctly remember seeing that live on TV as an 11 year old and went to tell my parents what happened in the other room. They said I didn't look good.......

Then we went to the game where he appeared in the tunnel with the bandage still on; big standing O for that one.

It's a miracle he's still alive after all he's been through, but perhaps and hopefully, it will take old age and not an accident or self-destructive behavior to finish him off. Live long and prosper, Clint!

An eye opener for sure. He doesn't hold back in this

Thank you for sharing.  What a story.  I remember the incident from the game but as is often the case with athletes, I thought nothing about his life after the game.  Hopefully, he remains sober and lives a positive life.

How many “something-chucks” were on the Sabres in those years?  I was young, but remember there being at least 3 or 4.

Clint Malarchuk

Dale Hawerchuk

Dave Andreychuk

That was it.
