During the early days of sports broadcasting, men like Chuck Bednarik, Art Donovan, Dick Butkus, Deacon Jones and Nick Buoniconti were representative of old school football and it is very sad to see them gone one by one.

I don't care if he played for the Fish... he was one hell of a good commentator on Inside the NFL.

The HBO documentary about him...heart breaking.

RIP, Nick.

It was a good documentary.

He was a complicated figure.   Incredibly accomplished man who got the most out of his ability and then experienced a lot of tragedy.    But also a prickly personality and the face of the tobacco industry in the 1980's.

RIP Nick

JMO, but if I make it to 78 I will be happy.  I don’t think I want to get much older than that.

PM me should you approach this age.

I know people.

JMO, but you may change your mind when that number starts approaching.

Always liked and respected Buoniconti. A tough-minded guy. RIP.

Nick was a small guy playing inside. Amazing player for his size.

A middleweight taking on heavyweights
