"Today, with a heavy heart and profound sorrow, my family and the entire Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and Buoniconti Fund community mourn the loss of a man who was truly larger than life, my father, NFL Hall of Famer Nick Buoniconti," Marc Buoniconti, his son, said in a statement. "My dad has been my hero and represents what I have always aspired to be: a leader, a mentor and a champion 2
teef Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 that's a bummer. i liked him on the show on hbo. was it inside the nfl? they would show a 2 yard run, but make it look super dramatic by showing it in slow mo with dramatic music. 4

st pete gogolak Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Man, Keith Lincoln, Nick Buoniconti, it's sad to see these AFL guys going. It's like WWII vets. In a few years, there won't be many left. 2
Helpmenow Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Nick was a small guy playing inside. Amazing player for his size.
ChevyVanMiller Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Inside the NFL with him and Len Dawson was "Must See TV" back in the day. RIP 3
K-9 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 A true Buffalo killer back in the day. His last years have been challenging with his dementia onset and I truly hope he’s at rest and in peace. 3
oldmanfan Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Damn shame. His dedication to his son was inspirational to many. 2 1
Johnny Hammersticks Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 RIP Nick JMO, but if I make it to 78 I will be happy. I don’t think I want to get much older than that.
thenorthremembers Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Saw a what I think was a 30 for 30 on him a few months ago. Truly a remarkable guy. R.I.P Nick. Your legacy will continue with your son's work.
HOUSE Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Pretty Sad even though he once wore the dreaded Patriots uniform. I hope he gets into heaven without to much paperwork. 1
sherpa Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I dislike look at me stuff, but I sat to him on a Miami to DC flight a number of years ago, and talked about the absolute domination the Dolphins had on us during those years, and OJ's expressed view that he was the best linebacker he faced. Nice guy, very small. Stature wise, nothing like what you see from LB's now. Just a really smart player who knew where to be.

Royale with Cheese Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 He was before my time but watched him on Inside the NFL growing up.
Buffalo03 Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 RIP. He was part of the best Inside the NFL lineup ever with Len Dawson and Chris Collinsworth

Beast Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 (edited) I never liked the guy as a player on the hated Dolphins or on HBO’s Inside The NFL. With saying that, my dislike was only football related and football wouldn’t be as fun if not for the villains we root against. RIP, Mr. Buoniconti. Part of my childhood memories of why I love this sport are because of you. God speed. Edited July 31, 2019 by Binghamton Beast 1 1
