Another thing I've noticed, and that nobody has commented on, is how NONE of these candidates is talking at all about working across the aisle with Republicans.  Translation: We have to have both congressional houses and the White House to get anything done anymore.

What's happened here?  This used to be a standard political line.  Can these folks pivot in the general election, after calling everyone on the other side immoral?

If they try to preach bipartisanship, they'll be quickly labeled traitors.

The 'toxic' political environment is real, and it's all coming from the loony left.

Neither party has any interest in working across the aisle.

I agree with you there, but at least Trump regularly begs the Democrats to help him get things done.

The level of dysfunction is stunning.  I've mentioned it earlier.  I kept screaming at the TV last night, when all of these congressmen say how they're going to do this and that. "Why aren't you doing that now?  It's your job!"

I imagine the same thing would happen with any Democrat President if they didn't hold both the house and senate.

Trump made no effort to include them his first two years because he didn't need them then.

No Democrat is going to try and win the party's nomination campaigning on wanting to compromise with Republicans.

That would be political suicide at this level.

So you're saying the best we can hope for is that nothing at all gets done.  I can live with that!  Just leave me alone, and let me live my life in the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness.

For the most part I agree but not entirely.  For example, if both parties could come to the obvious conclusion that we need to much better secure our southern border, tighten up asylum laws, move on making a pathway to citizenship for minors that came here years ago, implement e-verify or similar and act on deporting non-citizen criminals - those changes could get done quickly.  It's a no-brainer.  Same could be said for some fiscal revisions to discretionary spending and entitlement funding.  There is some painfully obvious stuff that could be and should be solved where it is painfully obvious what needs to be done.

I disagree. Trump would like to do a deal on immigration now. The Dems have done the math and are not coming to the table until they’ve imported enough people to guarantee them a PERMANENT voting majority. Once there, they’ll bring down the wealth redistribution hammer!

They're introducing the candidates now. I swear I expected them to introduce each one with a "come on down". Like "Joe Biden, come on down".

Andrew Yang, I'm so rich I can't afford a tie, and Tulsi all in white certainly stands out from the rest of 'em. One-upped Gillibrand in hot pink.  Biden looks like he's clutching his chest from a heart attack during the national anthem...

Michael Bennet is so boring, I'm ready to fall asleep.

Jay Inslee - the people running for president in this room are the last best hope for humanity

Next debate they should have entrance music, WWE-style.
