GG Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 To prove that point, Joe wouldn't vote for TPP in the way it was written by the administration of where he was #2. 1
B-Man Posted August 1, 2019 Author Posted August 1, 2019 Huh, It turns out everything Republicans opposed in the Obama years was actually awful...............? Next topic: The economy. Get ready for some unreality-based trash talk.

3rdnlng Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 Playing tonight at the Fox Theatre in Detroit: One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
B-Man Posted August 1, 2019 Author Posted August 1, 2019 Next topic: The Mueller Hearings. This is where CNN repeats all the same, lame talking points. The aim I guess is to set up a big finish of Trump-bashing. That's fair, since this is a Dem debate, moderated by Dems, on a Dem network. It just isn't very good TV, and it certainly isn't a debate. Booker says "we in Congress" should start impeachment proceedings "immediately." He also promised to uphold the Constitution. But as a Senator, he really ought to know that impeachment happens in the House. Gabbard: "Donald Trump is supporting Al Qaeda." Next time President Trump makes an over the top accusation against a Democrat, remember what Gabbard said tonight. And the fact that Don Lemon let her get away with it. . . . 3
B-Man Posted August 1, 2019 Author Posted August 1, 2019 (edited) by Stephen Green: https://pjmedia.com/blog/liveblogevent/drunkblogging-the-second-democratic-debate-night-two/ Closing Statement: De Blasio stands for something, which might just make him dangerous if he were more likable. Closing Statement: Bennet... remains untainted by the ravages of charisma. Closing Statement: Inslee is going to save the Earth, because this is the "one last chance" to save it. Pretty sure we're screwed then. Closing Statement: Gillibrand, she of the white woman privilege, wants to stop dividing people. Closing Statement: Gabbard is selling her foreign policy creds, but she's getting a couple basic facts wrong. And she sounds like a Cold War dove when it ain't exactly 1963 or '83 anymore. Closing Statement: I've heard Castro give this pitch before, and to my ears it sounds more 1972 than 2020. Closing Statement: Yang wants you to know he isn't wearing a tie, which has got to be worth at least $1,000 a month for every American. Kidding aside, he sounds relaxed, but also nonsensical. Closing Statement: Booker won't let anyone underestimate your worth or something. Closing Statement: Harris is closing with her AG record, which Gabbard absolutely savaged her for earlier tonight. It's like she forgot that ever happened, and judging by her NyQuil demeanor, maybe she has. Closing Statement: Biden repeats his "battle for the soul of America" schtick. It works with this crowd... and that's what counts tonight, yes? . Edited August 1, 2019 by B-Man 2 1
Ralonzo Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 So what the Democrat candidates apparently offer is: FEAR Fear of climate, fear of nukes, fear of coal, fear of whites, fear of men, and a whole heaping helping of fear of Trump. Looks like the official platform is really going to be Orange Man Bad, I guess. 2
Doc Brown Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 4 hours ago, SoCal Deek said: Another thing I've noticed, and that nobody has commented on, is how NONE of these candidates is talking at all about working across the aisle with Republicans. Translation: We have to have both congressional houses and the White House to get anything done anymore. What's happened here? This used to be a standard political line. Can these folks pivot in the general election, after calling everyone on the other side immoral? Tea Party 1
4merper4mer Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 I'm pretty sure Biden was off one millennium on the name of his own web site.
