njbuff Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 With the Supplemental Draft coming up there are two prospects that are expected to be drafted anywhere from the 2-4 round range. WR Marcus Simms, West Virginia DB Jalen Thompson, Washington State DB Bryant Perry, St. Francis LB Shyheim Cullen, Syracuse.............. I am not so sure about. Any interest in any of these kids?
Rc2catch Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Supplemental draft is a joke in my opinion. I wouldn’t give up a pick for any of those mentioned 5
Foxx Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 what happens if none of them are picked? do they then automatically become free agents?

We already have enough bodies like that at the wr/flanker spots.we had 13 on the roster last summer. These guys need preseason game reps...I would limit the crew to ten..no more.

These are guys who were not in the draft but are now ineligible to play college ball next season.

Just Joshin' Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 None, not very special. They would be low on the depth chart and long shots to make the team. Save the picks for next year. 1
Boca BIlls Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Hahahaha they have plenty of guys who won't make the 53 already.
TigerJ Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Simms had decent speed. He has average size...The circumstances surrounding his departure from WVU certainly don't scream "team first guy." Sixteen teams attended his pro day. Buffalo was among the missing. Add it all together and the prospects for Buffalo participating in the supplemental draft for Simms amount to "fat chance." 2
machine gun kelly Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 We have everyone we need and don’t need to give up a draft pick.
Ennjay Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 I could see persuading myself that one of these guys is no worse than whomever I would get in April 2020 with my 7th round pick, and if he's any good I get help now instead of next year. But I'm still not convinced I'd pull the trigger. 1

I had to look but since like ‘77 you nailed basically the two players who did anything from that draft. It’s basically a giant waste of time. 1

You pick 45 day 3 draft picks out of a hat and you won’t hit too many big either Edited July 8, 2019 by NoSaint 1
MAJBobby Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Not the WR but I definitely would look at DB Jalen Thompson, Washington State, would have been a top pick safety/nickle hybrid. Our safety depth IMO is concerning.
RoyBatty is alive Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 "Thompson would have been drafted in the top half of the draft if he would have come out this year, but in a deep safety class, he chose to potentially rise to the top of the next year’s class." Yeah i would take a shot on this one. 1
Pete Posted July 10, 2019 Posted July 10, 2019 The draft is 1:00 today I think. I would use a 4th on Thompson- we could use Safety depth competition. My guess though is some teams drafts him in 3rd
