McKenzie has a much higher ceiling than ppl think on here. He just needs to be more consistent and he'd be a real weapon. Perfect WR for end arounds, sweeps, etc

Love McKenzie. Love his attitude, his energy. He had great burst. He was an instant upgrade when we brought him in last season. I really hope he makes the team because I am a fan. But, I suspect (and he probably does, too) that between Roberts and Beasley, his role might be diminished, and he is likely on the bubble. 

 

Some others on here have suggested that he is more suited to Daboll’s offense than some of the other bubble players he is competing with.

 

We’ll see, I guess. But, I imagine that when it comes to the #4 and up, they are looking primarily at special teams ability, and growth potential, probably in that order.

He's a bit more like a patterson/austin type of weapon than a precise route runner - id rather have that than dimarco, or even yeldon tbh.  

 

The cross motion plays with a guy like him really does open up running lanes for other players like allen and the backs as well.

the fact that Brandon Beane added talent in several areas of the team has lit a fire under the guys who were here before.  I think that the Bills are going to cut a few receivers who have a good shot at hooking up with another team.  I don't know if McKenzie makes the team or not, but I'm guessing if he's cut, he does not stay unemployed. I'm pretty sure that John Brown, Cole Beasley, Zay Jones, and Robert Foster make the team (unlike sports hack, Cien Fahey).  Andre Roberts has the inside track for return specialist/WR, though I don't think he's an absolute lock.  The battle for that 6th spot is going to be brutal.  Do the Bills want the physicality of Duke Williams, the college touchdown proclivity of David Sills V, the veteran presence of Isaiah McKenzie, or Victor Bolden (who's been impressive this spring), another slot specialist in Nick Easley, a gadget WR like Ray Ray McCloud, a route running, hands of glue slowpoke like Cam Phillips, or Da'Mari Scott. an all around average player - average speed. average size, average everything else.

 

I think Duke Williams is pretty compelling given he's so different from anyone else Buffalo has, but I don't know that Sean McDermott thinks so.

I really like him on those end arounds. He's got a little sneakiness in his game. Beasley seems like he could be good in that capacity as well.

the thing he needs to work on, is how to hang on to the pigskin as though his roster spot depends upon it while huge hyped-up defenders are trying everything they can to knock it loose.

i like him, probably never a number one, but rather have a bunch of good guys versus one guy who's the "man".

tough decision .  they have slot receiver and returner covered already.  I doubt he is much on ST, so doesn't look good for him , unless they keep 6 WRs, which I doubt, as I am pretty sure they will keep at least 3 TEs . we shall see

....but, I think McBeane is in Duke's corner......shortly after the draft in an interview, McBeane said(will have to paraphrase), " the signing of Duke Williams made drafting a WR early no longer a top priority"....interesting....

I think you are correct in your assessment.  An injury or two may change the situation.  A late cut from another team could also change the status quo.  At this point, we'll just have to watch it play out.  In any event, I'm just glad that the team has options that are much improved over 2018.

Unless Brown, Foster or Roberts goes down with a pretty long term injury, he has virtually no chance of making the team.  There's probably a place for him somewhere in the NFL, but not in Buffalo.  Otherwise Beane wouldn't have signed 3 free agent WRs, 2 of them directly replacing what McKenzie did last year-speed receiver & return man.  Ray-Ray is probably in the same boat, but of the 2 he's less likely to be claimed on waivers & can be put on the practice squad.
