In addition, even though federal taxes went down, many people experienced overall tax increases because the slowdown in the economy caused states and localities to raise taxes and fees.

Great. When I look at my tax ratio, far too much goes to the federal government and far too little to the local government. America needs to re-evaluate the structure of federal, state, and local governments to ensure things are brought back into balance from a tax and service-provision perspective. While the Feds are squandering billions of dollars through endless pork and inefficiencies, our communities are squabbling over a few mills to fund their local schools.

Actually, it is radically and cynically different than what the previous (Democratic) administration actually did.  They paid down the debt, produced confidence in the economy and rode the resulting longest peacetime economic expansion in history.

No pretending there, AD.  This all actually happened.

Maybe if they concentrated a bit more on the whole "peacetime" thing we wouldn't have had planes fly into our buildings and throw the entire United States upside down from an economic standpoint, let alone a standpoint of fear. And if you're going to credit Clinton with the dot com boom (which is what gave him the ability to do all of those things), you have to then clearly credit Gore with actually inventing the internet itself.

Had we been attacked while Clinton was president, based on his other actions toward al Queda, one doesn't have to think hard to understand where the phrase "spitballs" came from.

Some of you guys have a very warped view of the world. View must be real nice from ICU. Ask the piano player to throw in some Frank if he wouldn't mind.
