RaoulDuke79 Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 (edited) This blows my mind. A two city team......I don't like it one bit. Edited June 21, 2019 by RaoulDuke79
Not at the table Karlos Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 So they can’t get a new stadium built in Tampa but they think they will get a new stadium in Tampa and Montreal spending half the time in each?
KD in CA Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 First step to finally getting rid of the embarrassment of the Rays.
Johnny Hammersticks Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Just now, KD in CA said: First step to finally getting rid of the embarrassment of the Rays. Why not just move the team to Montreal? This is just dumb. They’re actually a competitive team right now, and they can’t support them? Trash.... 2

On the bright side, we went to a bar mitzvah in that MLB stadium! Friends rented it out for their kids. Huge busses to take you up and back, drinks and snacks in the press box, dinner out in center field. Baseball game to follow with play-by-play on speakers, our son playing 2nd base, making a diving catch and double play.....all replayed on the Jumbotron in slo-mo. Very cool stuff! Money isn’t everything, but it IS nice to have! . Edited June 21, 2019 by Augie

ChevyVanMiller Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 It’s not a new idea. In 1974, World Team tennis actually had the Buffalo-Toronto Royals. Half the games were played at the old Aud and the other half north of the border. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toronto-Buffalo_Royals

Breed them and sell them.Look at Durham again this year..club is loaded but half of them will be sold off after two..three yrs with the big club. A consistent .300 or so BA there gets you a ticket out of town most of the time..
Gugny Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 The Montreal Snowbirds. April - May in Florida; June - August in Montreal; September - October in Florida. Two new stadiums to be built. Ridiculous. Cut to the chase and get one of the two unsupported Florida teams in Montreal full time; build a dome/retractable roof stadium; and call it a day. I would LOVE baseball back in Montreal. 1
Needle Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 Just bring back the Montreal Expos and end the joke in Tampa. 1
JoPar_v2 Posted June 21, 2019 Posted June 21, 2019 I’m telling y’all they just need to build a strip club inside the Trop and Tampans would show up in droves.
