here’s an encouraging stat from WaPo

If the country sees a 13 percent increase in voting this year and that’s reflected in Texas’s total vote, the state will see 10.2 million voters in 2020. If those who’ve already voted preferred Biden by seven points, Trump would need to win the day-of vote by 17 points to win the state.

Feels like hope vs facts.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Texans have already cast more ballots in the presidential election than they did during all of 2016, an unprecedented surge of early voting in a state that was once the country’s most reliably Republican, but may now be drifting toward battleground status.

More than 9 million ballots have been cast as of Friday morning in the nation’s second most-populous state, exceeding the 8,969,226 cast in 2016, according to an Associated Press tally of early votes from data provided by Texas officials.

Texas is the first state to hit the milestone. This year’s numbers were aided by Democratic activists challenging in court for, and winning, the right to extend early voting by one week amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Youth vote just blowing the F up in Texas!!

This will be a Reformation in our nation politics if this happens.

If it goes the way you want/predict you could almost call it would be a sort of revolution based on a changing culture.

TikTok effect. TikTok has younger voters engaged in a way they never were before, just look at Tulsa.

Early voting is also big for younger voters who may not have the ability to leave a job to go vote on one specific day of the year.

You still will be working in the laundromat even though it will be state run if your "dream" comes true.  Along with posted guards and a wall to restrict movement in and out of there.  Enjoy.

So funny watching people go overboard. They do it every 4 years.

Democrats are really working hard for this one in Texas.

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2020/10/30/democrats-plan-to-win-texas-433644

For years, Democratic orthodoxy has maintained that flipping Texas Democratic in statewide races—this year for presidential candidate Joe Biden and Senate candidate MJ Hegar, most prominentaly—means increasing turnout in urban areas and swing suburbs. But that strategy alone hasn’t worked yet—even as favorable demographic changes, especially in urban areas, suburbs and now even exurbs, have put the state in play. Now, people like Horick and Logan are part of an effort by Democrats to broaden their strategyby targeting the most Republican areas of the state as well. If they can boost Democratic support in places like Odessa just slightly, then, together with the unprecedented early vote surge in cities, Democrats think they might finally get enough votes to flip the state. It’s not about winning in these deep-red counties and districts—it’s about cutting into Republican margins, no matter how large.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton received just 28 percent of Ector’s vote. In 2018, Beto O’Rourke did slightly better, earning just over 30 percent. Horick’s goal this year is for Democratic statewide candidates to receive 35 percent of the vote in the county. She and other local organizers largely hope to do this by increasing turnout in Hispanic communities, as well as by persuading O’Rourke voters who backed President Donald Trump in 2016 to vote Democratic again. On the map on the wall, precincts colored in blue marked Hispanic neighborhoods estimated to be heavily Democratic. While only 35 percent of people voted in those precincts in 2018, Horick is hoping to push that number closer to 50 this cycle. Red stripes marked areas where voters cast ballots for Trump, in 2016, and then Beto O’Rourke.

The right in this thread seem really defensive. They should be. If Texas goes blue (still not favored to), the President will be a Democrat until the Republican Party significantly changes to win back the middle.

Worse is if this change isn’t a win back type thing but just a total shift in demographics.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/02/trump-vs-biden-judge-rules-on-harris-county-texas-drive-thru-voting.html

KEY POINTS
  • A federal judge rejected an effort by Republicans to invalidate more than 100,000 ballots cast at drive-thru voting locations in Democratic-leaning Harris County, Texas, in a case that has been closely watched because of its potential to affect the presidential race.
  • The judge, Andrew Hanen, said the plaintiffs in the lawsuit in the case lack legal standing to challenge the new drive-thru voting locations.
  • Harris County, which includes the city of Houston, has set up 10 drive-thru voting locations in reaction to the cororonavirus pandemic.
  • The case has been of keen interest because of polls showing a very close race in Texas between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee.

This is so bad the republicans pick based on race heavy voting urban areas, and try to ban those areas. Republicans would see it that way if it was Democrats doing this.

This is huge! Beto only lost by 200,000 votes. Getting these votes to count could help!

This went through a Republican judiciary system and a Conservative judge at the Federal level!
