Suppose they gave an impeachment
and nobody cared?

by Don Surber

Original Article

Official Washington is obsessed with impeaching President Donald John Trump and has been for three years. But in covering the presidential race in Iowa, Edward-Isaac Dovere of The Atlantic found even hardcore Democrats in America could not care less.

He wrote, "The impeachment fight is all-consuming. It’s the biggest story in politics. No one is talking about anything else — except pretty much everywhere outside of Washington." The politicians act accordingly. He wrote, "Yet of the 13 candidates there, just one mentioned impeachment: Tom Steyer, the billionaire activist whose political group and TV ads over the past two years have helped mainstream the idea of removing the president.

'Meet the Press' Asks What Voters
Really Think of Impeachment.
The Responses Don't Bode Well
For Dems.

by Leah Barkoukis

Original Article

“Meet the Press” ventured outside the beltway to ask voters in early primary states what they thought about Democrats’ impeachment push—and the Left is not going to like what they had to say.

"We went out and tried to find some voters to talk about impeachment. We had to bring it up to them, here’s what they told us," host Chuck Todd said before playing the video. "I think it's a waste of time," said Minnesota voter Jim Baird. "You have a bunch of kids fighting and not accomplishing what they are elected for."

Same.

Its the order of the release that’s damning. If this were about transparency, they’d be released in order. But this isn’t about transparency, it’s about a frame up. Thus, selective leaks followed by a slow roll out of depos (with the most damning first and the exculpatory ones well after the media has had time to make the first ones stick).

Its always been a coup. Still is.

well, just looking at it from a vantage point. it makes sense to release the damaging ones first. i haven't had a chance to see how damaging they are yet (getting ready to look around now...), but if it is all feelings *****, then we know the rest of them won't amount to squat. i heard on the radio in a 'news break' that, whats her name, Voyanovch said that she was told if she made a tweet that praised Trump, she could keep her job. not the best face but again, if that's all they got, this is a giant nothing burger.

Absolutely. In a month or so, after the media has established the proper narrative, Schiff's staff will quietly release the exculpatory transcripts in a Friday night document dump that will not be mentioned by the media.

Standard operating procedure.

Like how a couple years after Clinton's impeachment, Starr released the report that there was nothing wrong with Whitewater.

Time for another thread title change. ?

Brutal impeachment numbers for Democrats  in new Monmouth poll:
73% have little/no trust in process,
60% say Dems are more interested in destroying Trump than finding facts,
51% oppose impeachment,
only 37% say Trump's actions are clear grounds for impeachment. https://realclearpolitics.com/docs/2019/MonmouthPoll_US_110519.

Independents oppose impeachment, swing state voters hate it, and opposition in the House was bipartisan (while Democrats couldn't get a single Republican to vote for it).

All in all, impeachment is turning into a political disaster for Democrats.
