whatdrought Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Not surprising. He’s a holdover from the previous regime who hasn’t shown the new regime why he’s worth the raise. He can earn it this year and I’m sure we’ll be happy to pay him. 6
Process Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 WR and DE are going to be by far are biggest, and only major, needs going into 2020 2 1

I would also add a suitable replacement for LorAx, as well as RB 1

Alphadawg7 Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 No shock at all. Pretty obvious they were interested in an upgrade and that definitely meant his 5th year option was unlikely. Personally, I think we sign Ansah and then try and trade Shaq like we did with Sammy after not picking up his option either. Beane probably tries to trade Shaq whether we sign Ansah or not, just to try and get some value before letting him walk in FA. 3
JoeF Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Average of 3rd to 25th Salaries at DE is $13.073Million.... Could this mean they have a 2 or 3 year deal in place with Ansah and will extend Jerry Hughes for a couple of seasons sometime soon?
LABILLBACKER Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Not surprised at all. Although he did give effort and occasionally made plays, he just never lived up to his 1st round billing. Better to say thank you and goodbye now, then to be stuck with Chris Kelsay for another 5 years.... 2 1

DrDawkinstein Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Makes sense. They're better off trying to negotiate a lower-cost extension if they want to keep him around at all. 3
YoloinOhio Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 Not overpaying for average players. How refreshing. 15 1
wppete Posted May 1, 2019 Posted May 1, 2019 That was expected. Hope This motivates Shaq and he has a huge year. Sign him then. 2
