Its pretty wild hot take, like they have Cody Ford telling us what it's like to be blocking for the RB you think is gunna be cut, makes no sense and you're looking like a bookies best friend 8 minutes ago, CaptnCoke11 said: Yeldon isn’t a lock to make the roster this year this is true, yet I can't think of an actual reason that they would cut him either.
OrtonHearsaWho Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Just throwing this out there... I wonder if Tyree would have potential switching to TE. A very intriguing prospect no matter what but it would seem a bit odd to have two developmental QBs on the team. 2

It is when last season he rushed for more yards than the other 5 + is a lock for the hall of fame and he's obviously trying to break all-time rushing leader records. He's less than 1000 yards away from Barry Sanders. Let him eat.

I think the way they used him too in that gadget role has value. Not sure there is anyone else on the roster who can really be used that way. Beasley will pass McKenzie as the starter in the slot but he is a more conventional slot receiver he isn't the bubble screen, end around, jet sweep, out of the backfield type that McKenzie was used as. He just allows the Bills to get creative. He averaged about 30 offensive snaps a game after signing last season - now I would expect that to be lower.... more in the 15-20 snaps per game in 2019 if Beasley is healthy.... but you have to keep him and keep some packages in there for him to use his skill set. Gives defenses a whole extra wrinkle in the game plan that they have to prepare for each week. I think Singletary is the only guy that has that kind of ability, although he doesn’t have the top end speed McKenzie has. His short area quickness and ability to make defenders miss is why I think he can be that guy. Isolate him on one side of the field with one defender and watch out,

I just think there's too much (potential) talent to keep McKenzie. But we'll see. And I think they keep 7 WR's as Roberts will be used primarily on returns.

If he is going to make the 53 there is a lot less chance that Sills does. McKenzie made some plays last year and has decent chance to stick, but his chances took three serious blows with the addition of Beasley, who will start, Roberts, who kills McKenzie's chance of sticking as the PR, and to a smaller extent Yeldon, who is likely going to be used as a pass catcher on underneath routes. Brown, Beasley, Foster and Roberts are locks. That leaves Zay, Williams, McKenzie, Sills and Easley along with 3-4 remaining guys from last year fighting for what is likely two slots. But we do need a big guy that can win jump balls because the team wants a complementary group of receivers and I strongly think we are keeping one of them. Sills will have to beat out Duke for one of those two spots. And Zay, McKenzie and Easley will fight it out for the other, with Zay having a huge advantage although I think he stinks. I like him, too, especially for those reasons you mentioned. But as I said above the addition of Beasley like you said, plus Roberts, plus Yeldon even though they don't play the same position hurts his chances. If it were up to me, because of his quickness and ability of those sweeps which adds a new dimension to the offense, I would take McKenzie over Zay. We just don't need Jones skill set in this group. Eager to see how these competitions play out. WR and OL will be fierce. Corner as well. You know Gaines and KJ are here to win Levi’s job. Tight end and RB should be interesting too. Neal/bush/johnson/Alexander at S. Beane really has done an amazing job 1

Toesy Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 The top RBs are gonna play-nobody cares about individual records, etc. There is no seniority bonus in the NFL.

I disagree, McKenzie has much better initial explosiveness, short area quickness, agility and make you miss.

Like I said, he had more yards than any of our other RBs last year and he's 35. He's here to act as a player-coach, and break some records, no need to act fake about what is. There is this thing called respect in the NFL, it's not an internet forum, 14748 yards + being 400 away from breaking Barry Sanders record is not the same as 14748 posts and thinking he'll be cut so we can not make the playoffs once again and maybe win an extra game. 6 minutes ago, Doc said: They can't stay healthy. Toesy Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 It is a production league-if a guy produces he keeps his job. In fact it is disrespectful and demoralizing to the entire team to keep anybody who can't produce-they brought in Frank Gore because he looks like he can still play-it has nothing to do with Barry Sanders records. The goal is to win.

Toesy Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 Sound far fetched to me-winning games is important in the NFL.

Give the kid a break. Belichik gave him no snaps the whole preseason because he was hiding him, and he was literally signed and put right into his first NFL regular season games, completely unfamiliar with our team. I'd like to see him have a full training camp and preseason before I ream him for the mistakes he made before the injury.

Toesy Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) Nope-you don't know what Gore can do-neither do I-even the Bills don't know-we will find out-you think he has a guaranteed position no matter what-he doesn't. Edited April 28, 2019 by Toesy typo
