klos63 Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Ok, it's not really necessary to add the 'special teams' tag on anyone drafted that doesn't project as a starter. We all know how it works. 1

Oh, wait, we have John Brown who will probably get injured or the little white guy from Dallas. Wait a minute, we have Duke Williams, the miracle man from Canada!!! If you think Zay Jones is our number 1. Sorry for your WR evaluations. 2

And yet he couldn’t be kept off the field on a very good team. Just gotta trust McD on this one. He is a DB whisperer. TW, MH, JP, EJG, Levi Wallace, Taron Johnson - great track record with DBs.

A lot of talent left including some who have a chance to compete for a starting position. This guy's only chance is special teams and then practice squad. I only pick day 1 starters with 6th round picks. 1 3

Foster, Brown, Jones and Beasley aren't too bad a group of WR. Mock if you want, but it's fairly solid. 1
Rocket94 Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 I know...lets see what happens after training camp. For all we know, Johnson may really develop.
Ethan in Cleveland Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Slow. Small. Religious. Waste of a pick but at this point these are all marginal guys. No WR or pass rusher to develop yet. But at least they aren't taking unathletic guards with no hope of making the team. 2

And Neal too is a very big hitter.

Kelly the Dog Posted April 27, 2019 Posted April 27, 2019 Small and slow is no way to go through NFL life, son. Hopefully, he comes up big, and fast.

They really aren't that vital after the kicker. The rules have made returns rare and you can find a #6 WR or #10 DB anywhere to play on teams.

Grab two top notch kickers (I’m fine paying for them!) and don’t fumble returns or allow blocked kicks and you are a solid special teams. No ones winning games with returns or coverage. This one just feels a bit like proehl last year. Don’t love it but oh well. Rare to love a guy this late. Edited April 27, 2019 by NoSaint

What's also true, is that we do not have a genuine #1 WR. What isn't true, is that you pick those guys up all the time, most of the way through day 3 of the draft.
