MAJBobby
Sure take the gamble in the 3rd. Not in the first. Take him in the 3rd and if the medical ends his career early no major issue.

I think this is all raked stuff to get him to somebody in the teens. I'd take him at 9 if Oliver is gone. ...everything turned out okay for Star.....hope for the same with this lad............... Top prospect Star Lotulelei gets positive news on heart By Kevin Patra NFL.com Published: April 2, 2013 at 05:38 a.m. Updated: April 2, 2013 at 03:27 p.m. Concerns over Utah defensive lineman Star Lotulelei's health are beginning to be put to rest as the 2013 NFL Draft approaches. A recent MRI showed "no evidence of dysfunction" with the defensive lineman's heart, which functioned "consistently with that of highly trained athletes" said Utah team physician Dave Petron, according to The Salt Lake Tribune. Lotulelei, who was projected at No. 1 overall previously, put a scare into NFL personnel when an echocardiogram administered at the NFL Scouting Combine in February revealed his left ventricle was operating at just 44 percent, compared to the normal range of 55 percent to 70 percent. The improvement in Lotulelei's condition in a test administered shortly after the combine led most to believe the abnormality might have been caused by a virus, according to the Tribune. The most recent news buoys that belief.
RyanC883
I'm not Sweating Sweat's condition. They tested him, and still let him perform at the Combine. That would not happen, IMO, if it was very serious. If he is there at 9, I'm taking him. I do not buy that he is "off of team boards," and that teams expect him to fall out of the first. This sounds like teams at the bottom of the 1st hoping to land him. Edited April 22, 2019 by RyanC883
Chicken Boo
This is bs, spouted by some team picking in the teens, hoping Sweat will fall to them. 1

teef
i guess this is guessing game that is the draft. this morning on sirius, the mentioned that bill polian didn't even have gronk on his board due to his back problems. you just have to hope you're guessing correctly.
BillsfanAZ
I think he drops out of the first round. Mike McGlinchey was picked 9th last year and he has a 4 yr 18 mil deal fully guaranteed. I doubt Beane gives a contract like that to a player he has any health concerns about.
dpberr
Just say no to any chronic condition. It's an easy rule to follow.
oldmanfan
Ok guys, I'm am not a cardiologist, but as an anatomist and physiologist I teach the basic science stuff to those who become cardiologists. So I'd like to think I bring a little credibility to this discussion. First, I cannot find any information anywhere about the exact nature of his pre-existing heart condition, whether it is electrical in nature, or some kind of cardiomyopathy, valve, or whatever. All I have read is that at the combine is was deemed low risk and thus he was cleared to work out. Second, cardiologists are pretty smart people, so I am sure any team in the NFL interested in the kid would have a team of smart cardiologists that are more than capable of assessing him. Third, comparisons, to someone like Lawson, where the decisions was not whether he had a problem but what was the best way to treat it, and not comparable. So it's pretty simple: have your docs assess the kid, get their data, then make the call. To say you would take him off your board completely without adequate information is just silly. 3
IgotBILLStopay
He would not have been allowed to complete the drills at the combine if his heart condition was bad. This is just someone trying to sabotage Sweat. If he falls out of the first round, some team is gonna have a steal.

Formerly Allan in MD
There are other issues with him aside from his heart. They will also play large with a team like the Bills.
