snafu Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 Warren needs to do something to stand out from among the other candidates. AOC jumping on board is normal and average for a D in the House. I actually give Warren credit for this move. It seems like none of the D presidential candidates (except maybe Beto) wanted to take a stand on this whole issue. 1

But...c'mon, these are not serious people. They don't care if a crime actually occurred, they're just looking for an excuse to justify their actions. And AOC probably thinks "impeachment" is how you make a fuzzy navel. 1 1
The Senator Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) Even Pelosi is pushing back on impeachment hearings, calling them a waste of the House’s time. Warren will be one of first to drop out, along with Kirsten Giidebrand, who hasn’t been endorsed by a single member of New York’s congressional delegation or the governor. In fact, of the 18 on this list https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/21/politics/2020-democrats-running-for-president/index.html all but Sanders and O’Rourke (please, I’d rather vote for PJ O’Rourke) will either drop out or suspend their campaigns after the Iowa caucuses, if not sooner. Biden will announce on Wednesday. I can’t wait to hear the nonsense that comes out of that gaffe-prone idiot’s mouth. . Edited April 19, 2019 by The Senator 1

Doc Brown Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Pelosi's "he's not worth it" is the right tactic. Impeachment talks backfired on Gingrich in the '98 midterms and she's well aware of that. Dems that focused on the issues in the midterms (specifically healthcare) did well. Most people have made their mind up on Trump already anyways and the Mueller Report won't change that. Impeachment proceedings are pointless since you're not going to get close to enough Senators to throw him out of office. Let the people decide in 2020. 2
Chandemonium Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 This will never happen, but can you imagine the hysteria if Trump was impeached and actually removed from office prior to November 2020, but remained on the ballot and won the election? 1 1

The House may impeach the President, as they did Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton, but removal from office requires he he/she be convicted by a two thirds super-majority of the Senate. It didn’t happen with Johnson or Clinton and, as you’ve stated, it won’t happen happen with this President either. But the scenario you describe would be hilarious. .
SoCal Deek Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 I’m thoroughly confused. Wasn’t it Trump who wasn’t going to accept the results of the election? Bizzaro Universe for sure. 1

I want Trump out, and I think best way for that to happen is to let the focus become on his record...all of this stuff is just helping keep his base energized. 1
dubs Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 This woman is an embarrassment. It blows me away that people actually listen to her. She should be shunned, Dwight Schrute style.

Warren is so smart to just call for seriously looking into this. This report needs to stay front and center and be discussed truthfully and honestly. So many lies have been told about it already, but the American people need to be reminded that this president has no intention of faithfully upholding his oath of office. He will never faithfully execute the laws and that needs to be drilled into everyone's head again and again. The Russians will be back, and people need to remember that. So while impeachment in and of itself would be pointless, the discussions about it would serve a real purpose. Listening to Warren talk reminds us all that we don't have to have a complete idiot as president representing some of the most toxic elements of our society. Better days are ahead

Better days are ahead The Russians were always here since the days of FDR on the behalf of Democrats. Maybe we should be looking into collusion charges for DNC operatives from the days of Obama and Clinton? It was going on before the existence of the internet. Yes, listening to Warren talk reminds that we don't have to have a complete idiot as President. It means throwing her worthless tail to the curb once the formal primary/caucus season starts. With all the Democratic hopefuls making fools of themselves the electorate will see the best choice does not reside with the Democrats so better days are ahead! 1

Better days are ahead Once again you fail to listen or read. Liawatha has come out and directly called for Trump's impeachment. She didn't equivocate by saying things should be looked into but stated that the House should impeach him. Why does nearly all of your posts have to be full of lies?
