I can see you in the morning when you go to school
Don't forget your books, you know you've got to learn the golden rule
Your teacher tells you stop your playing, get on with your work
And be like Johnnie-Too-good, don't you know he never shirks
He's coming along

Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play a guitar just like a-ringin' a bell

Nighttime on the City of New Orleans

Changing cars in Memphis, Tennessee

Halfway home, we'll be there by morning

Through the Mississippi darkness

Rolling down to the sea

Long distance information, give me Memphis, Tennessee
Help me find the party trying to get in touch with me
She could not leave her number, but I know who placed the call
Because my uncle took the message, and he wrote it on the wall

Long distance runaround
Long time waiting to feel the sound
I still remember the dream there
I still remember the time you said goodbye
Did we really tell lies
Letting in the sunshine
Did we really count to one hundred

Now let me tell you one thing (let the sunshine)
I want you to sing along with The 5th Dimension (let the sunshine in)
Hey, open up your heart (the sunshine in)
Come on! (let the sunshine)
And let it shine every day (let the sunshine in)

Get hot

Get too close to the flame

Wild open space

Talk like an open book

Sign me up

Got no time to take a picture

I'll remember someday

All the chances we took

We're so close to something better left unknown

We're so close to something better left unknown

I can feel it in my bones

Gimme sympathy

After all this is gone

Who would you rather be

The Beatles or The Rolling Stones?

Oh, seriously

You're going to make mistakes you're young

Come on baby, play me something

Like "Here Comes the Sun"

Come on baby, play me something

Like "Here Comes the Sun"

Just as every cop is a criminal
And all the sinners saints
As heads is tails
Just call me Lucifer
'Cause I'm in need of some restraint

So if you meet me
Have some courtesy
Have some sympathy, and some taste
Use all your well-learned politnesse
Or I'll lay your soul to waste, mm yeah

The ticket that I got in my hand

Leads right downtown to the promise land

I left a message for the milkman

Nothing today

'Cause I ain't coming home

Never mind the letters that require reply

'Cause I'm, all messed up and ready to go

I think I'm gonna be sad
I think it's today, yeah
The girl that's driving me mad is going away

She's got a ticket to ride
She's got a ticket to ride
She's got a ticket to ride
But she don't care

Woke up this morning, started to sneeze
I had a cigarette and a cup of tea
I looked in the mirror. What did I see?
A nine-stone weakling with knobbly knees

I did my knees bend, press ups, touch my toes
I had another sneeze and I blew my nose
I looked in the mirror at my pigeon chest
I had to put on my clothes because it made me depressed

I woke up this morning
Didn’t recognize the man in the mirror
Then I laughed and I said, “Oh silly me, that’s just me”
Then I proceeded to brush some stranger’s teeth
But they were my teeth, and I was weightless
Just quivering like some leaf come in the window of a restroom

I couldn’t tell you what the hell it was supposed to mean
But it was a Monday, no, a Tuesday
No, a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Then Saturday came around, and I said
"Who’s this stupid clown blocking the bathroom sink?"

All he ever wanted
Was to be someone in life that was just like
All I want is to just have fun
Live my life like a son of a gun
I could be one thousand miles away
But still mean what I say

Posted

You're all I ever wanted
You're all I ever needed, yeah
So tell me what to do now
'Cause I, I, I, I, I, I want you back

Oh this heart of mine, carries a heavy load

When I think about, how I've hurt you so

After you been, been so good to me

I've been unfaithful darling

I've caused you misery

A feeling of guilt, oh it tortures me

And only you my darling, oh can set me free

And darling all, all I need

Is just to hear you say you forgive me, forgive me baby

All, all I need,

Is to have you touch my hand

Say you understand, baby

I bet there's rich folks eating in a fancy dining car
They're probably drinkin' coffee and smoking big cigars
Well I know I had it coming, I know I can't be free
But those people keep a movin'
And that's what tortures me

Posted

All the world over, so easy to see
People everywhere just wanna be free
Listen, please listen, that's the way it should be
There's peace in the valley, people got to be free

All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too

Well, uh, outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl, hey

A bolt of fear went through him

As they thundered through the sky

He saw the riders coming hard

And he heard their mournful cry

Yippie I ah

Yippee I oh

Ghost riders in

Ghost riders in the sky
