I was only joking, my dear
Looking for a way to hide my fear
What kind of fool was I?
I could never win

I know it's late, I know you're weary
I know your plans don't include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Longing for shelter from all that we see
Why should we worry, no one will care girl
Look at the stars so far away
We've got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We've got tonight babe
Why don' you stay?

Stay
Ahhhh Just a little bit longer
Please please please please please
Tell me that you're gonna

Now your daddy don't mind
And your mommy don't mind
If we have another dance, dear
Just one more time

Bottle of wine, fruit of the vine,
When you gonna let me get sober?

Let me alone, let me go home.

Let me go back to start over.

Ramblin' around this dirty old town,

Singin' for nickels and dimes.
Times gettin' tough, I ain't got enough
To buy a little bottle of wine.

Half of my life
I spent doin' time for some other f**ker's crime
The other half found me stumbling 'round drunk on Burgundy wine

Don't go to bed with no price on your head, no, no (Don't do it), no, no
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time (Don't do it) (Hurry up)
Keep your eye on the sparrow when the going gets narrow
(Don't do it) Don't do it

Don't say, words you're gonna regret

Don't let, the fire rush to your head

I've heard the accusation before

And I ain't gonna take any more, believe me,

The sun in your eyes, made some of your lies worth  believing

I am the eye in the sky, looking at you

I can read your mind

I am the maker of rules, dealing with fools

I can cheat you blind.

^^^ - The one concert I already had tickets for, which was canceled.  Hopefully he reschedules!!!

Oh, we're not gonna take it
No, we ain't gonna take it
Oh, we're not gonna take it anymore

We've got the right to choose it
There ain't no way we'll lose it
This is our life, this is our song
Posted

We're not gonna take it
Never did and never will
We're not gonna take it
Gonna break it, gonna shake it
Let's forget it better still

And when you're looking for your freedom
Nobody seems to care
And you can't find the door
Can't find it anywhere
When there's nothing to believe in still you're coming back
You're running back, you're coming back for more
So put me on a highway and show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

Come back when you grow up, girl
You're still livin' in a paper-doll world
Livin' ain't easy, lovin's twice as tough
So come back, baby, when you grow up

You look real good like a woman now
Your mind hasn't gotten the message somehow
So if you can't take it 'n' the goin' gets rough
Come back, baby, when you grow up

I took month-long vacations in the stratosphere
And you know it's really hard to hold your breath
I swear I lost everything I ever loved or feared
I was the cosmic kid in full costume dress
Well, my feet they finally took root in the earth
But I got me a nice little place in the stars
And I swear I found the key to the universe
In the engine of an old parked car

I hid in the mother breast of the crowd
But when they said, "Pull down," I pulled up
Ooh, ooh, growin' up
Ooh, ooh, growin' up

Ain't got no trouble in my life,

No foolish dream to make me cry,

I'm never frightened or worried,

I know I'll always get by.

I heat up (heat up)

I cool down (cool down)

When something gets in my way I go round it.

Don't let life get me down,

Gonna take life the way that I found it.

I got the music in me

I got the music in me

I got the music in me.

But far, far away from the front page news,
Far, far away from the headline blues,
Down a secondary road that severely shows its age
The forties comes to life on a make-shift stage.

It's the Bob Roberts Society Band.
Playing every Sunday at the Orange Grove Stand.
They don't play grunge and they don't play loud.
It's the magic of the music that still draws a crowd.

Speak to me of summer,

Long winters longer than time can remember,

Setting up of other roads,

To travel on, in old accustomed ways.

I still remember, the talks by the water

The proud sons and daughters,

That in the knowledge of the land,

Spoke to me in sweet accustomed ways.

Here I am
On the road again
There I am
Up on the stage
Here I go
Playin' star again
There I go
Turn the page

As soon as you are able
Woman I am willing
To make the break that we
Are on the brink of
My cup is on the table
Our love is spilling
Waiting here for you to
Take and drink of

So if you're tired of the
Same old story
Oh, turn some pages
I'll be here when you are ready
To roll with the changes

People say that HE won't come

And I don't know, what say you?

But if He should would you be the one?

I have a little question, I have to ask you

Are you ready, to sit by his throne?

Are you ready, not to be alone?

Someone's coming to take you home

And if you're ready then He'll carry you home.
